Dawn's Big Move. He wouldn't be there because it was Lawrenceville, CT -- just pointing out that they reused a town name.

Don't know what I was thinking - I just reread your post and realized you said a "nearby town" was Lawrenceville. That obviously wouldn't be NJ ;D Brain is not working so well tonight - "Claudiaitis" I'll have to reread Dawn's Big Move as I hardly remember that one but liked it. Ann does seem to reuse names a lot, doesn't she?

Ann uses a lot of town names local to where she grew up -- I remember New Hope, Mercer, and Lawrenceville being mentioned as towns close to Stoneybrook. All three of those are towns not far from Princeton, NJ.

I love Stacey and her towel fits. She seems to have one of those in every Sea city book doesn't she? lol

^I never realized that there was more than one towel fit until last time I read SS #10, got to that part of the book, and thought I was going crazy because I was SURE that had happened in another book. Glad I wasn't imagining things!

You can take Stacey's man but don't even think about using her towel!!!

^ Ha ha. I think the reason Stacey throws such fits in Sea City is because she does constantly have her man taken away there, though. I think she takes out her frustration on the other girls, not saying this makes it okay but more understandable (and still funny Just after reading this thread on the Lawrenceville stuff the other day (literally 5 minutes after), I opened up a catalog for Christmas collectibles and saw the company's address was in Lawrenceville, NJ. It made me laugh. Maybe Toby works there ;D (I was almost positive I posted this the other day, so if I did, sorry. I think I'm losing my mind again..."

This one was great, but what was up with Chris, a 12 year old, working at an Ice Cream shop?! The legal working age here is 14!

Kind of like Logan working at the Rosebud ;D But I always got the impression that Chris's family might own the Ice Cream place. Not sure why - maybe that's how I got over the age thing ;D

Yep I assumed the same thing as aln because I figure Sea City is so small, it's probably locally owned by his family. But regardless I think making a 12 year old is ridiculous no matter what. I refuse to even acknowledge the fact that Logan works at Rosebud because that is absolutely insane.

^ The thought did occur to me, but didn't it seem like his boss had his eye on him at one point? I dunno something made me think it wasn't owned by his family.

I really like this book, especially Vanessa. I thought she was really mature and handled the situation so well. I also liked that MA and Alex decided to be friends instead of something else but really enjoyed the descriptions of their dates. Sea City sounds like fun. ;D

I thought Vanessa was really mature in this book, it made me like her more. I agree that Sea City always sounds like a fun place, reading about it always makes me want to go on vacation.
