Stacey was always throwing fits over towels in Sea City. I think she does it in all the Sea City books.

^ I don't think she threw a towel fit in #8.

I'm pretty sure she snaps at Dawn and accuses her of using her towel in SS#10. From what I recall, she's pissy because everyone (meaning the kids) is using her towel to wipe their hands and faces after washing, and she snaps at Dawn and sort of blames her for it. Poor Dawn. Stacey sounds really PMS-y. (It's okay, Stace, it happens to the best of us!)

I don't remember any towel fight and I read all of them. Did you read the same books the rest of us read?

I just reread this one today. I skimmed over the babysitting stuff that didn't take place in Sea City. I never really liked the chapter with the Rodowskys at the pool. And I'd pretty much forgotten about the chapter with Jessi sitting for Becca and Squirt where Squirt sticks Frodo and Misty together in one cage.
I like how Mary Anne agonizes over the postcards she writes to Logan, including the ones before she ran into Alex again. It's so funny and realistic for their age how she wants the postcards to sound perfect. I also like how awkward her dates with Alex were, at least at the beginnings of them. Also funny and realistic.
I don't care for the little "Vanessa loves Chris" side-plot. I think she's a little too young to be writing love poems to some boy, and actually giving them to him, even though it was secretly. Funny that Chris thought it was Mallory, though. And that Mallory never even knew! I wonder what she'd have done if she knew Chris was interested in her.

I never really liked the chapter with the Rodowskys at the pool. I always have, but I think it's mostly because of all the food in that chapter. That chocolate chip cookie that Jackie drops in the pool sounds amazing, and so does all the crap he tries to buy later when Kristy sends him to get their lunch (bad move on her part).

^ I haven't read this book in at least 15 years and the cookie in the pool is the only thing I remember about that chapter lol. It totally grossed me out. Ack! Soggy cookie!

I dont know where Alex is from. I agree it was rude of Stacey at least MA knew what to do by telling she was going out while Stacey stays with the Pike kids.

I thought Alex and Toby were both from New Jersey, but I could be wrong.

That's because it was never mentioned. For me, I just assume he's from NJ as well because he and Toby are cousins.
