^ You would think that her closet would start to reek, even if she WAS cleaning up after Tigger...

^Totally! And either the Brunos are the most imbecilic of parents on earth or magically when they were at home Tigger was quiet and Hunter was fine. How could they not have realized what was going on? Timing should have penetrated their thick skulls. One day Hunter is fine. (As fine as he can be). Next day, the same day Tigger is missing, he isn't. DUH. Didn't Mary Anne sit at the Brunos' at least once before "finding" Tigger? She did. I did a quick re-read after posting. Also, Hunter accidentally discovered Tigger the morning before MA did. Kerry told him not to tell their parents. To me, that probably more than anything, escalates what Kerry did. Here is your brother, who hopefully she has some love for, sufferring because of YOU for 4 days. He stumbles upon the source. Yet, even then you don't have the grace, the decency to come clean? That is just wrong.
I dislike cats immensly, (dogs all the way) but certainly did feel bad for Tigger. Feeling sorry for MA got so old though. What a *itch she can be.
Logan was creepy in this one. Though, on the other hand, his being completely wrapped up in his baseball team made much more sense for a 13 year old boy than say renting carriages!

I think that the Bruno's should've known that something was up when Hunter's allergies were acting up. However, I do think that Mary Anne should've been more careful with Tigger. I don't think that he should have been on the street by himself.

I thought Mary Anne and Logan were both totally annoying in this one, and I'm really surprised their relationship survived the book. After all, they're 13. Most 13 year olds don't have the sense to talk through issues; they just break up.

^Good point. Though in BSC-Land this was just Mary Anne's and Logan's first summer together as a couple. Had they broken up now, they'd have been apart for the remaining 12 years of 8th Grade or lol perhaps they'd go back and forth.

^ as much as it annoys me, i could see them being an on-and-off couple. MA (all the girls, really) could rationalize anything, so i could see MA convincing herself "he didn't really mean it."

Buddy to Dawn on Page 100:
"Unless, there's a good detective," said Suzi, "and he finds the bad guys."
Sound an awful lot like Dawn and the Disappearing Dogs, doesn't it? Too bad 4 years later, (when Mystery #7) took place, the BSC Members "forgot" Buddy's words of wisdom! I think this was the first (and only)? instance where a Charge predicts a future plot?

^It would or even if any of the characters made reference to a future event. Haley as Madame Leavoux(sp)? could have made a fortune!

I was wading through this horrible book last night. I had forgotten that poor Carrot was dismissed by Charlotte when she claimed to not have a pet at the very bottom of page 29. (Original cover).
On Page 34, Mary Anne is frantically searching "room by room" for Tigger throughout her house. (The first time).
Has anyone heard of doors closing off the head of a staircase? Unless a two story house was seperated into two rental units or something. I've noticed a lot of BSC kitchens have doors which isn't (to me) as unusual as a door to the second story.

Unless a two story house was seperated into two rental units or something. I've noticed a lot of BSC kitchens have doors which isn't (to me) as unusual as a door to the second story. I think it's a lot more common in old houses. I can remember visiting the house of a friend of my mom's when I was a little kid, seeing a door that I thought was a closet, and being surprised to find stairs there. The house was close to 100 years old at the time. Even if the other BSC members' houses aren't as old as Dawn's, it wouldn't have been odd for them to be from the early 20th century. It's just that houses that old aren't as uncommon on the East Coast as they are in other parts of the country, so it may not have occurred to AMM to note the age of most of the houses.

^Thanks Didn't someone, Dawn? tell us that the Bradford Court houses were all built by the same developer man? For that reason I always assumed they were rather new but maybe not. We know how AMM is about ages!
