^ Yeah, it sounds as if Richard was a bit of a "yes man" when it came to Sharon. The relationship would never have worked without some SERIOUS give/take and understanding.

I actually love the way there is no resolution or consequences to Dawn scarying Mary Anne. It's one of the best parts of the book. It's refreshing to see a BSC member to something so totally manipulative and wrong and not confess and apologize or something. Isn't that because we're supposed to believe Dawn did 'the right thing', because she would not have to hurt MA's feelings?

Dawn's logic in this was amusing - "I'll scare the crap outta her so I won't hurt her feelings" ;D It would have been so much easier if one of them had simply said it wasn't working out... but Dawn said she'd rather scare Mary Anne because she was the one who pressured Mary Anne into sharing a room with her and she doesn't want to admit she was wrong... ok Dawn, you don't want to look like a prat so you decide to make Mary Anne look like a prat instead, how nice I actually like the Pike Plague storyline, especially when the Pike kids complain about the breakfasts they're each given, e.g. wanting french toast instead of normal toast or wanting milk instead of orange juice, then Mal yells "This is NOT a restaurant!" ;D

This is the 2nd book I read. The 1st book was No10 so it took me a while to understand all the changes that had happened to the BSC in the last 21 books.
This probably sounds silly, but I really liked the Pike kids in this book and they have always stayed as favourite characters. Maybe all the accidents in this book were unrealistic but I have to admit I still enjoyed reading about them.
I felt sorry for Dawn in this book when she fell out with Mary Anne. If this book had been told from Mary Anne's point of view, I probably would have felt sorry for Mary Anne. I'm very fickle - sorry!
What is a crisper, please?

Normally it's all very moral and Dawn would have to eat humble pie and admit she'd made a mistake, then she'd be forced to apologize to MA. MA was downright obnoxious in this book. But then, I've never been a fan of hers.

As much as I liked MA and the Great Romance, I didn’t like this one. The only part that was wasn’t bad was some of the stuff about the Pike kids playing doctor. Claire and Margo are always so cute and they were very cute in this one how they were going to “treat” Vanessa. It was also a little funny how Mr. and Mrs. Pike needed “sitters” for themselves. I did feel for Sharon with Tigger throwing up in front of her and gave her a lot of credit for tolerating her Sorry, pet lovers. I know you won’t understand but I would never, ever have a pet in my house – no compromises. (Of course, I’m allergic so it’s not even an option but even if it was…. I probably would not marry someone over it if that was the conditions.) So, I do feel for her with that. I also feel a little for Richard with her messiness, though both of them knew and should have thought about these potential problems before they got married. As for MA and Dawn, I didn’t like either one of them. MA was especially annoying but if the story would have been told from her perspective instead of Dawn’s, this might have been a bit different. I thought it was really immature how Dawn plotted with Jeff (who is a little kid) to scare MA instead of just talking things out with her. The whole family could have benefited from some better communication. I knew right away the shared room wasn’t going to work. Though as an only child, I can’t really blame MA for having trouble adapting to living with a bigger family. And in the end, nothing really seemed to be resolved but just pushed under the rug temporarily. I think this might be the root of some of the later fights/problems that develop between Dawn and MA. Basically, I didn’t care for this book and all of the characters (with the exception of the Pike girls) pretty much annoyed me.

Haha, I'm a pet lover and even I felt sorry for Sharon for that! Yuck.

Charlie transports 8 members of the BSC in his car. 9 people?! I always imagined the Junk Bucket to be a Beetle or something, but now I'm hoping it isn't. Why are the parents okay with this?? I always saw the junk bucket as some sort of big, old sedan that practically takes up two lanes all on its own. Even so, I definitely think they would have been squished. I remember in one book where Charlie takes them all to Jessi's dance school and Mal actually sits in Claudia's lap. Claudia then says something about how she can't feel her legs and Mal's like "I'm not that heavy, am I??" ;D

Ah poor Mal... wasn't she even referred to as "stocky" in one book? ;D

^ I always thought that that was the general perception of her? Tigger barfing on the carpet bugged me too. MA bugging the movers bugged me also. Why couldn't she have just held him? Dawn not apologizing, I always thought that they were going to put it in another book, where they take turns spilling secrets for some reason.

^ I'm also kind of surprised they didn't ever bring up Dawn scaring MA again. Glad for all of the agreement on Tigger There are some things that are just gross... As for Mal, I never picture her as stocky. Of course, I actually picture her as pretty even though she isn't described as being pretty.

liss, I think the word they (Abby?) use is sturdy. Poor Mallory, being the sturdy awkward one with the long-legged best friend.

^ Seriously! I wish it would have been hinted at again in the series.
I felt bad for poor Tigger barfing (but then I'm a cat lover). Sharon could have been a bit more sensitive to MA about it instead of yelling "Look at what your cat did!"

If I hated cats, I would have been pissed off too. As it is, I like cats, but I would be annoyed if someone else's cat puked on my stuff.
