I mentioned in the Super Special thread that I'd like to see this one as a super special. Not cause it was so good that it needed to be stretched out or anything. I'd just like to have read things from the different girls' perspectives. Like Mallory thinking everyone was going to love her little pink clown outfits or Charlie's reaction when he saw what he was going to have to pull in the parade.

I would have loved to see an entire book from Charlie's point of view. I know that the books are primarily about the sitters, but still... I think it would have been interesting to explore some of the minor characters, like Charlie, Sam, Alan, and/or Cary.

Although some of the minor characters have chances to share thier thoughts, I would love to see what any of them actaully think of the club as well as the girls. I know in the movie, Alan's sweet on Dawn. I'd love to see that in a book!

I read that snark during my lunch break at work the other day and I laughed so much I nearly cried.

Wow. I don't remember reading this book, when I was in my teens. I must have read it once or twice.

Did anyone else find it odd that Mallory was the one charged with making the outfits? I always thought Mary Anne was the sewer in the group. If you ask me, if she was the one making the costumes, I think they would have come out a lot nicer heh.

I thought Mal's horrible choice of fabric was what pushed the costumes over the edge of fug.

The color was bad, but the pattern she picked was even worse!

Yeah, I think it was a combination of the really bright pink and the fact that she made the babies hideous clown suits to wear. If anything, Dawn had the right idea when she dressed Eleanor up! And when Mallory brought the fabric to Claudia's house and showed everyone, I'm pretty sure that's when Stacey was mixing colors to paint Shoezilla. You'd think she'd see the pink fabric and use her fashion sense to paint the shoe a color that wouldn't clash!
But then, we wouldn't have this book where every single thing went wrong for the BSC for once heh. I only read this once as a kid, because the fighting made me so uncomfortable. Now I think it's hilarious!

Plus it would have been a lot quicker and easier to mix a different paint color than to have to exchange the fabric at the store. But yeah, then we wouldn't have had all the wacky hijinks of "BSC tries to work together and fails miserably."

I guess this book showed us Claudia may not be the best artist in the world after all  It's okay if she can't do everything, but everyone acts like she can.

^ I never really saw the float as an artistic endeavor, but as a building endeavor instead. Plus, Claud had the entire BSC to help her mess it up.

^This sort of O/T but also related to Starrynight's comment above. I don't think I've ever mentioned this but did it strike anyone else as not necessarily odd just something that grabbed your attention that a lot of the time art projects (Halloween Costumes), baking (cakes in Recipe for danger), and I'm sure other examples were described as "building" as opposed to "making" or "creating." IDK, maybe to me building literally-wood or blocks whereas making or creating is more artistic. Not that building isn't art just that I've always thought fine art was different from I guess contractor or design art. Does this make sense or am I rambling?
