Blue is by far my favorite. I like all of them except cherry red. The taste of cherry reminds me of this yucky cold medicine I used to take as a kid. So I usually stay away from anything cherry-flavored .

My favorite were pink and green. I was always super petrified that the other colors would turn my mouth funny colors.

Even some juices. ;D There is also a type of gatorade that tastes like liquid antibiotics to me sometimes. ;D

My parents used to make me take that Cherry medicine too. I hated it, so I'm not too fond of cherry flavors either. I loved the Blues!

Thinking about Charlotte in this book, I have never agreed with her mom's explanation of why she became a hypochondriac. I don't think it was so much that she wanted to be sick so she could go in the hospital to be with Stacey (that doesn't make much sense to me ;D) but that she is a kind of paranoid/sensitive girl and the fact that Stacey was sick was making her super-sensitive to worrying that she might be too. (if that makes sense ;D) I can relate because I do this type of thing too. Like when someone I'm around a lot gets a cold, every time my throat feels a little bit scratchy I start thinking I am getting it and worry about it a lot. ;D I think that's what Charlotte was doing more than anything.

^i agree with you aln. why would charlotte think she'd be sent to a hospital in nyc anyway?

^ Exactly. She's way smarter than that and that explanation made no sense. (and gave her intelligence no credit ;D)

Anyway, I was going to ask you all, it's weird but the first time I read this book I remembered thinking that it seemed longer. I picked it up and I was like wow, this one feels thicker.. is it a mystery? Then I realized it was just a normal book. It was weird. Is this book actually a little longer, or was it just my imagination? (I did get the book second hand, from my cousin, I think. Maybe the pages were a little splayed out from where she had possibly laid the book down open, making the book feel thicker, or something). Maybe the beginning chapters made it seem longer. Ugh, this book must have the longest character/narrator description section in the entire history of the BSC. It’s about 24 pages long, if you count some of Stacey’s introduction in chapter 1! Now, normally, I actually like reading the usual chapter 2s/3s, even though all of them are about the same. I enjoy reading character descriptions, and sometimes there are interesting little variances thrown in. This one was just a bit over the top, though (and less interesting)! It just seemed to drag on and on more than usual.

^ I don't remember reading that long part. What does she go on about? She goes into a lot of detail about her parents' divorce and her diabetes in the first chapter- which makes sense, since the story revolves around that. But then she just seemed to go on forever when she got to the part about describing the BSC members and how the club works. It could be just me, but for some reason that part seemed to be the longest one yet! The first three chapters were basically an introduction without any real action.

When I was little I liked the pink and red ones! We actually have some in the freezer right now, because my niece is obsessed with sugar, but I haven't touched them. I try to stay away from high fructose corn syrup and other artificial sugars. I drink coffee with honey instead of sugar. I hate the taste of anything diet, and hardly ever drink soda (I am a water drinker). I think sugar in moderation is okay, unless of course you can't medically have it.
I also agree with aln about the hypochondria statement. I definitely do the same thing as you! I try to quit it though...because it normally drives me nuts!

Every time I see this thread (or any references to this book, actually), I get the Foreigner song Urgent stuck in my head. "Urgent. Emergency. Urgent. Emergency. Urgent (urgent urgent urgent) emergency!"
