^ That's what I would think, too. It would make sense if they were really upset about it for the reasons you said, booboo.

I agree with you guys. I hope the Kishis are just mad at the situation or were worried. The way I interpreted that moment was that they were mad at Claudia specifically, which wouldn't make sense. Kristy compares the looks on their faces to the time she and Claud were caught flushing twenty dollar bills from Mr. Kishi's wallet down the toilet. I'd like to think that they were just worried about hearing their daughter was involved in the situation and not mad at her, specifically. I liked Sarah a lot too, aln. I still would like to know why they broke up. I'm starting to wonder if she cheated on him, since it would explain why Charlie is so unwilling to talk to her. But that's just my guess.

I just reread those few parts, fluffycakes, since I was dying of curiousity. ;D It didn't say why Charlie and Sarah had broken up but you might be right. For some reason, I see it as being a more petty problem, though. But again, just guessing. ;D As for the expression, the way I read it was that it was Claudia (not her parents) who had the same expression. I would assume it would be fear, guilt, shame, etc. or worry that her parents would be angry. I didn't really see much about the Kishis being angry, though I think it could definitely be inferred and would be very logical to think they would be. I would be worried about my daughter riding with Charlie in the future, even though he had never done anything (though I might start doubting this ;D) in the past.

Read this one for the first time, and does Sarah appear in any other books? What is so great about her, besides her #41-wearing Met uncle? Clean lungs?
Am I the only one who thinks Angelica isn't a b*tch for wrecking the car as much as Charlie's an idiot for letting her drive it? When I got my first car, a few of my friends wanted to drive it (why, I have no idea, since it was a crappy ten-year-old Saturn that cost like $500) and it was pretty easy to just say, "Oh, sorry, I don't think so." Then again, I didn't want to stick it in my friends, so maybe that's why this was more difficult for Charlie. Also, did he not know she wasn't 17 yet? Though I can see how the Brewers would still be pissed if she lied to him and he was, like, "It isn't my fault! She said she had a license!"
It was lame of her to blame him for letting her drive it...but how stupid do you have to be? I didn't think people in Stoneybrook made such terrible decisions!
I read this as the Kishis not being aware of the entire story when they first got there, just knowing that they were picking their daughter up from a police station. I think that when the police called her parents, they might not take the time to tell the whole story, just say that there had been an accident and their daughter was fine and waiting at the police station?

Just read this. I can't believe Charlie finally got a story line and it was mostly about him thinking with his little Charlie. I wish they had focused more on Charlie picking a college and everyone adjusting to the possibility of him going away to school. (You know Karen would have had a fit and she barely ever even interacted with the guy.)
I really hate Krushers books. They're so repetitive and the team is more inconsistent than Claudia's schoolwork.
I seriously went "Yay!" when Kristy said she was bringing Claudia to the concert. They're my favorite friend pair so I love when they interact. Seriously, I think I've begun to ship Kristy/Claudia as I get further into the series. Lol.

I'm surprised that the ghostwriter didn't realize that by April, most colleges SEND the rejection/acceptance/wait list letters.
I like the book, without the Krusher parts. I am suprised it took 107 books to realize that they need a Charlie subplot. About Kristy hating Angelica? The first time I met my stepbrother's baby mama, I just got a vibe off her that said do not like me. I can imagine with a blood sibling it would be stronger. And I always find it odd that most Kristy books suck, espically because this is the girl who is so dynamic! But she gets these terriable books!
Little trivia: this was the next BSC book I was supposed to read in my first time around the BSC world. I never went back to that library.

^ Good point! I remember getting mine in Dec before the June I graduated from H.S. By April, Charlie should not only know where he's going but have done all the preliminaries of seeking aid if need be, housing, freshman orientation, etc. I've said this in another thread but the Charlie subplot might have been made more interesting if he questioned more his roots, especially as in thinking about changing his last name to Brewer. I would have loved to read about that.
I'm a big baseball fan and admit to thinking it awesome that Kristy organized the Krusher's. But, that said, felt this Krushers backstory was very boring.

The only thing I liked about the Krushers in this one is how they idolized Charlie and it ticked Kristy off. Lol. Is the legal driving age in Connecticut not 16? I'm too lazy to look it up today. Sam told Charlie to go to Stoneybrook University so he could still drive everyone around. Sam should be close to driving himself around by this point.

Ann has a weird thing about driving--it comes up in Dawn and the Older Boy, when it's such a huge deal that Travis can drive at sixteen, because apparently all the parents in Stoneybrook make their kids wait until they are seventeen. (I think nowadays CT has a restricted license, like there's a curfew or a limit on passengers between 16-18, but graduated licensing is a pretty new thing, so I doubt it was in effect when the books were being written.)
And yeah, the college planning thing is weird, too.

sorry for the double post, but i just read this book today. does anybody know if kristy actually won the tickets? i got the impression that it was a definite possibility that alan gray was messing with her, and since she never got to go, i was wondering. i'm sure they would have said something if there were no tickets, but who knows.

Seeing that it's April; spring-time has arrived. Where I live in Toronto, we have been having beautiful weather that feels a lot like summer! I wanted to read a BSC book that takes place in April so I can experience that oh-so-lovely (haha) seasonal atmosphere that the BSC books like to portray.
What-do-ya-know! I picked up this one... perfect! I remember it's a spring-time book. I like the cover (I think it's pretty well done. It has always attracted me to the book).
I remember being in Grade 6 and borrowing this book from a friend who read it in a day (which was pretty fast back then!) I remember her handing it to me in the school yard; and sadly, I remember the location, too.
I used to get SO EXCITED for a new BSC book to come out, especially around this time in the series. I would eagerly be anticipating a new Mary Anne book, since she was my favourite, and it was craziness for me to wait between 102 and 109 when her next book came out.

^ Charlie says that it was because Sarah was too mature/serious for him.
