I'm reading this right now and not as annoyed by it as I thought I would be. I actually like some of the stuff that the girls in the BSC said when giving Jessi advice (Kristy and Stacey pointing out that not all thin people who don't eat fast food are anorexic) and think the book handled the situation better than some others. I like the subplot with Shannon and really enjoy the scenes with the class for kids - Devon and the pudgy little girl make me laugh. Also was glad to see the continuity of the same kids in Jessi's class from Dance School Phantom, which I read yesterday. Better than just throwing in new characters. In all, this one isn't as bad as I thought it would be. And I love the Burger King stuff

I'm glad to know I am not the only one that loved the Burger king stuff in this book. I thought this book wasn't horrible, I think it is normal, especially for an 11 year old to not know exactly how to handle a situation like that.

Forgot to mention that I wanted to be one of the sitting charges in this book so I could have played "Let's All Come In" and built the snow city. I always want to play "Lets come in" and the snow city sounds like a real creation.

Maybe we could make up some type of online version to play on here, though it wouldn't be nearly as fun as dressing up for real (I always loved doing that)

I always enjoyed dressing up as a kid too. I had a lot of old dance costumes between me and my sister that I could choose from.

i just finished this one, after putting it off for ages. I didn't like this much as a kid, and I dont like it much now either. It just seems boring. I dont know why... Just a vibe I get.
Did you guys know we have Burger King here too, but we call it Hungry Jacks?

Is it a Burger King equivalent or is it just a general burger fast food place? I'm really curious about things like this in other countries. ;D

Pretty much a Burger King equivalent... but for some reason its called Hungry Jacks here in Australia. My friend and I had this big debate about the Hungry Jacks here in my town. She thought it was called Burger King and I'm like "Thats the American name!" Sure enough its Hungry Jacks.

Yeah, the reason they called it Hungry Jacks here is because when it was introduced, there was already a restaurant named Burger King in South Australia. It has since closed down and so there are a couple of Hungry Jack's stores with the name now changed to Burger King - the big store in Melbourne is actually a Burger King, but most suburban stores are Hungry Jacks.

^ i thought the story of that was cool... It was one tiny shop, called Burger King, and the guy won out over this big US corporation... so they changed their name, and he kept it, until his shop shut, haha. No it's definatly the equivalent... Do you have Whoppers etc?

I do not remember a snow village. I'll have to re-read it. The burger king parts kind of make me sick to my stomach though -- I'm a bit like dawn in that regard. I can't imagine ballet dancers sitting around eating fries. That's kind of funny, actually.

I think the Burger King references were the only thing I like about this book. ;D And the snow village that I always forget about. ;D Now I'm really hungry for Burger King. ;D
