Vanessa orders it. I ended up loving this subplot. The end where the kids were doing the skits and songs had me laughing forever. Didn't care much about the main plot (it was okay) but would almost read again right away just for the ending of the subplot. Guess I shouldn't have said I didn't like it when I was only 1/2 through

Aunt Millie in the "Kit" American Girl books - the ones that take place during the Great Depression That is all I could think about when I read Mr. Pike saying that.

I liked the mentions of the moondust and the mood lipstick (that Laurel Kuhn buys), but I don't think I would so readily blow what little money I had like those kids did...my mom would have probably vetoed the idea of it too, so there's that. And then they were stuck with all that junk, because the parents only paid them money for their songs and raps, right? I only remember Claudia buying something from them, the crow's feet remover (haha). Them wanting yo-yos, especially ones that lit up, was awesome. I was a big fan of yo-yos as a kid. James Hobart, Myriah Perkins, and a couple of other kids bought the moondust (except for Suzi Barrett's since she kept hers).

I know; I meant Laurel Kuhn and her mood lipstick as a separate mention.

I just had to say again that I think this is one of the funniest subplots. My dad just finished this book and loved the subplot, too. He was laughing and talking about it with me so loudly that my mom had to tell him twice to quiet down (maybe if she would have said "indoor voice, Tom," that would have been more effective) ;D I think the subplot is far better than the plot in this one. I was pretty indifferent to the main plot.

I love the subplot of this book, too. You've just got to love Vanessa's bust developer.

I just read this book, for the first time. I liked it too I could very much understand the main plot, having divorced parents, although compaired to me, Stacey has it easy! The kids and their spending spree was funny too, and I thought it funny that Vanessa, seemingly knows what it is, and orders one
