I was just about to post the same thing about Shannon should have had at least one book. After all, she was part of the club as alternate member for a while. Anyway, what I was going to post about on this book... It always starts out slowly for me but I like it more the further I get into it. I really feel for Jenny and Mrs. P always makes me laugh. Andrea is precious as always. As for the triplets' kickball team, I don't care for this subplot. I can't stand the triplets, though, and had to laugh when everyone quit. I thought it served them right, even though I could see their point about Mal only being 1 year older (though I pretend she and the other sitters are much older) One question about the kickball: when the kids started getting rough, did anyone else notice that Hayley was the first to really get agressive? She seems to have these angry tendencies in quite a few books.

I accidently started another thread (not accidently, actually ;D - just couldn't find this one. ;D) for this one but I did finish it today and had a few more thoughts. I really liked Jenny in this entire book and thought it was so cute at the end when she wanted to change her dress to play kickball. I was glad she got to play. ;D I thought Jenny was actually pretty sweet in this book and felt for her in the whole thing. I was also kind of glad to see the Pike boys' kickball team fail when they were being such a pain about not wanting help (though I can understand why they were doing that). ;D

^ She ain't look like no four-year old I know. I thought the cutest part of this book was when Jenny and co. got back from the catolouge shoot, and Jenny was going to play kickball, and she went with her dad. I 'm glad they actually mentioned him after 14 chapter. Well, she looks like a four year old in her pic in MA's scrapbook. She looks really cute there. And I agree about that chapter with her dad. That was really cute. I liked this one more than I thought I would. Judging from the back cover, it seemed to be all about Jenny not wanting to get messy playing in the Pikes' kickball team, but it was more about Jenny's jealousy over baby Andrea's modelling career. Yeah,me too. ;D

What was the subplot in this one - just the kickball team? I read it not too long ago but can't even seem to remember the subplot. ;D

Digging up an old thread here - just read this book for the first time. I really felt for Jenny, and I was expecting to hear a 'Mommy and Daddy love you even though you're not a model like Andrea' speech, so I was a little surprised when that wasn't said. I was also surprised at the behaviour of the Pikes. So, they honestly couldn't see that they were working Mal to the max? Bull. Contrary to what Mallory thinks, she is still a child, and shouldn't have so much responsibilities piled on top of her. Also, wouldn't going to an occasional meeting or chilling with her friends every now and then be a lot less rowdy than babysitting for the Pike clan, who would be some of the hardest kids to sit for (except for the poor Walking Disaster, of course)? Also, mentioned this in the inconsistencies thread but I'll say it here, too. On the first page of this book, Nicky is described as being nine. There's no more mention of his age anywhere in this book (nor Vanessa's, because it would have been funny if they said she was nine, too. Twins! ;D) The kickball subplot was a little boring, and I thought it was so mean of some of the kids to say they didn't want Jenny to play (though I can see why!) I thought it was cute at the end when she wanted to play Off topic, but kickball was called soccer-baseball at my school. I loved it, even though sports aren't exactly my thing. I do remember getting a home run once or twice, though! I was so proud ;D

I felt sorry for the triplets when everyone quit their team -even though they were sort of being jerks at the time.

One question about the kickball: when the kids started getting rough, did anyone else notice that Hayley was the first to really get agressive? She seems to have these angry tendencies in quite a few books. ^ I did notice that. I think that it was just foreshadowing "Claudia & the Little Liar." I would have to side with the Pike parents on making Mal babysit for her own siblings. I mean, I think that when they started doing that it dawned on them, "hey, why do we have to call some business started up by 13 year olds anymore when what probably everybody across America does is just have the older sibling take care of them, especially when that sibling is super responsible." I think that using the BSC was just a way to humor Kristy & the gang just like she did when she hired "Kids Incorporated." I liked this one. I was disappointed when Jenny actually got a job. I don't really know why. I also didn't like how Jenny was labelled all of these things "Miss Priss" then "Miss Mess" or something like that. And why did Mary Anne push Jenny to play outside so hard? If she didn't want to then she didn't want to. Did anybody else think that it was so wrong the way that little boy with the white shirt was holding his belt on the cover? I agree that Shannon should have had at least one book in the regular series. Heck, I was hoping that Wendy would have had just one as well.

^ I agree about Shannon; she should have at least had one or two regular books when she was an official member of the club. Not sure I agree about Wendy, though; I wasn't crazy about her and I don't know that I would have wanted to read an entire book with her as the narrator.

I wanted a book about Wendy because of her interest in video games. She was having a Super Mario Bros. tournament at sometime in that book.

At times, this book felt more like an extention of the Jenny-babysitting-sub-plots. At the same time, I liked this book much more than I thought I was going to. The young model/acting plot was a good way to beef up the main plot, and I thought it was a realistic storyline between Jenny and Mrs. Prezzioso.
