Most of the time when it came time to take naps, I wouldn't be tired at all. I usually ended up in time-out because I couldn't sleep and would bop a classmate I didn't really like over the head.

^ A good way to get out of taking a nap. ;D (of course, a time out would be just as bad....) The other thing I hated about naptime was it grossed me out lying on those mats. (don't ask me why - they just seemed "dirty" ;D)

^our parents bought our mats. Mine had Bert and Ernie. I guess I was attracted to the homosexual boys even when I was 5.

^ Good thing we didn't have to buy our mats because mine would have been a waste of money. ;D

Ours were 17 minutes. Normally, at least 10 of those were spent waiting in the lunch line, which always sold out of anything worth eating by the time I got there (i had the last lunch period, all three years I went to that school). I can sympathize. I had this problem last semester at my school. I had the last lunch period with hardly no food left by the time I got there and only 25 minutes to eat . It's better this semester because my lunch period got switched and I have the second lunch period with fresh food but I still hate that we have to wait in line, eat and go to the bathroom all in 25 minutes before class. Going back to naptime, I hated it. I was one of those kids that never slept. I used to be the human alarm clock, waking everyone up for work at 5:30 in the morning ;D. I don't think I ever took a nap as a kid and we never had naps in preschool or kindergarten thank God because I never would've made it. My grandma always used to try to get me to take a nap by saying "The Fairy" would leave me money if I went to sleep (she wanted to get credit for being the only one in my family to get me to take a nap ;D) so I used to pretend to be asleep and then later on get my money from "The Fairy" ;D .

I'm reading this one and taking notes for another forum's discussion... Here's my notes so far!
Here are my notes so far:
Cover: -Claud’s outfit matches the bed and carpet! -They look 12 for once; -Kristy is dressed feminine but is sitting more like a tomboy than the others.
Chapter one: -Its starts on the first Tuesday of seventh grade?! -The bell rings at 2:42? -I learnt the word decorum from this book; -Kristy says there has been a gap between Claud and MA/Kristy since school began, but they could have only been there, two days tops? -The year before, Sam would have been at SMS with Kristy; -Charlie calls DM Squirt, AMM must like it as a nickname; -It mentions MA is sitting for the Pikes, and I wonder how many, and when the 2 or more sitters rule came in.
Chapter two: -It’s says Kristy’s birthday is a month before school, that’d be August right? Is this consistent? -Elizabeth and Watson have been on and off for four months at this stage?
Chapter three: -It says the Pikes live a few doors away from the Newtons, is this correct? -The outfit mentioned for Claud here is actually okay in tone wit 80’s fashion; -Janine has 196 IQ, is that consistent? -Janine’s friend is said to be a 14 year old math nerd, is this math nerd mentioned again, or are we to assume since she graduated early her and Janine loose touch?
Chapter four: -They play Tetherball and 4 square at recess… I don’t see that happening later on.
That’s my thoughts for now!

I always thought Claudia's red and yellow outfit looked weird. I think I had a sweater very similar to the one Stacey's wearing.
I know, what was up with that?
I noticed that too.
Yes, I believe her b-day is in August.

Barely 12, yet Kristy makes this big deal out of Mal being 11 at the beginning...I think?
When I was in secondary school (years 7-11) we had a 15 minute morning break and an hour for lunch.

If Mary Anne's birthday is September 22nd, then she was 11 when the club started.
Greer-my elementary school in CA had a cemetery next to it too. We used to all dare each other to put our hands through the fence and touch a tombstone. Then girls (6th graders) would write in red lipstick on the mirror in the bathroom that Bloody Mary would come get us and turn the lights on and off. I refrained from using the playground restroom because I was so scared. It also seemed like we had recess ALL the time there.
I didn't like naps either, but I remember one day I actually did fall asleep and my friend covered my face and arms with marker. My mother wasn't too pleased. ;D

^ My friends and I would do a similar thing at sleepovers, where the first one to fall asleep got covered in lotion.

We weren't supposed to play in them, and whenever we walked through them we were supposed to be very quiet, but one of them had really cool pinetrees we liked to play house in so it was always very rebellious when we did. ;D
