Just like what you guys said, it's sort of boring. I agree that Deb's portrayal was realistic but she's definitely a raincloud. And I also agree that it would've been nice to see her in other books since I want to see how she was before going blind. She's lucky that she got the BSC because others might've let her bump into things & stuff to get her back for being rude to them. I kind of got the impression that maybe the book was made in order to advertise the Dog Guide Foundation. And I loved, loved Mary Anne in this one.

This may be an odd comment about the book, but the yellow cover always throws me off. I love the yellow but when I look at the book it feels bright, cheerful and energetic and this book isn't really that. In fact, the energy of the cover makes me like the book a bit more than what it deserves, haha.

I borrow this book from the library.
When, we got Service dog. We couldn't have no other pets in the house. Cause, other dogs can make bad habits for Special Service dogs. We only had Morgan for a month. Now, I got Leia. (This was like few years ago.)
I can just imagine that lady in the grocery store. File complaint on Facebook. Posting her post on the grocery store Facebook page. People commenting on post. I read that people will bring in they're dogs, to the store. They're not service dogs.
Deb, remind me of Ruth Thomas on The Waltons "The Job" Season 3 Episode 11. Where John-Boy gets a job. He's reading to her. The young lady, has bad temper.

Just read this one for the first time.
I jag very low expectations, but I don't think it's that bad. It's not the most exciting book in the series, and I think it's because the Scout plot has almost zero conflict. Not as boring as I thought, although the whole premise feels random. I'm not sure if the Thomas-Brewers would have been good candidates to train a guide dog irl. I think their home is too chaotic. Obviously it works out for them, but it just doesn't seem realistic with Shannon and very young kids. Am I totally off base, because I'm really not sure.
Labs are some of the most adorable dogs out there, so this book gets points for featuring one.
I kind of couldn't stand Deb for the most part. It's like I get it, what happened to her was terrible, but it was weird that she claimed she didn't want sympathy, but basically screamed, "MY LIFE SUCKS, FEEL SORRY FOR ME!" all the time. Idk. Going blind is actually a fear of mine because I'm an artist, but even then, I found her hard to take. I'm glad that Kristy eventually told her all this. Mary Anne was definitely not the one to talk to Deb- Kristy's directness was much more effective imo.
Mal and Jessi were considered to sit for the Coopers, including Deb, and they're a year younger than her. Mary Anne is also sitting for Ben in this book. Lmao! What the heck?
One thing in chapter 2 that stood out to me: "(At first, I had a hard time admitting that my best friend could have two best friends. But Mary Anne and I sorted that out.)" That isn't at all how I remember it. It was Dawn who decided to talk to Kristy in Impossible Three (honestly? Major props to Dawn for that), and I don't recall anything about Mary Anne and Kristy sorting it out other than Mary Anne telling her that she was her first best friend no matter what in #30. Other than that, the topic is surprisingly not touched on often at all.
Not as bad as I thought. I figured this one would be a 3, but it's probably a 5 for me.

Lol the writers were vicious, they were like, let’s take the only boy Mal has ever loved and make him a charge.

What if Mallory was the only sitter available? Surely they wouldn't make her babysit her boyfriend.
