^It's not ghostwritten. In fact, it was the last book entirely written by Ann. From there on out it was the ghosties...

^ I agree. I don't think it necessarily means that AMM didn't know her characters. I think it was just a mistake (like a typo almost) that should have been picked up by a "second pair of eyes". I know I always "read what I think I write" when I'm proofing so that's why I make sure to always have at least one other person read it. And things still get missed all the time. ;D I guess when I look at a lot of the inconsistencies from this perspective, I should place less blame on the authors and more on the editors. After all, it's their job..... Still, though, mistakes happen, I know. ;D This one is funny though. Especially since MA's mom "comes after midnight" in Stacey's Choice. Definitely sounds like a ghost to me. ;D

i'm sure she just meant sharon ;D
stacey's choice was written by ann. island adventure was too, but i believe it was written before they started using ghostwriters at all.

^Actually, it was written after #35, in the regular series. I know that Dawn on the Coast had a ghostwriter (jan carr) because I wrote it in the wiki.
I am such a nerd.
Yeah, I'm sure it was just a typo, not anything to do with not knowing the characters or anything. These things do happen.

^for some reason i always thought that they didn't employ ghostwriters until stacey's choice, but looking at the companion it seems that after dawn on the coast it was about half-and-half. island adventure was written by ann though.

i'm sure she just meant sharon ;D Well, that's nice. Stating Sharon as MA's mom, instead of Dawn's mom like they always say. Especially since MA's mom "comes after midnight" in Stacey's Choice. Definitely sounds like a ghost to me. ;D LOL ;D

^ I agree. I've also seen MA call Sharon "mom" a few times in narrations in the later books and sometimes wonder if this is a subconcious thing showing how she is starting to become closer with her. I know a lot of people who call their stepparents their parents and even though MA claims she will never do this, I can see her doing it occasionally at least for convenience sake.

she considered Sharon mostly as a good listener friend....she thought calling her mom would feel like her "sorta mom-friend"

^ Right. She got a great step-mom and friend, which is what I was saying in response to your post that she got a "mom" (sorry if I misread it ;D)
