It's interesting to see how many ghostwriters there are, and how many they've all done.
I can't believe it took me so long to work out that Lerangis also wrote the novel adaption of the movie.

No wonder in some books you end up hating a sitter or thinking she's being obnoxious or something. XD This makes perfect sense now. =)

Thanks for the list. It's interesting to see what ghostwriter wrote what book. I wonder why Ann wrote more books for the Little Sister than she did for the BSC? Is it because Little Sister was easier?

I never knew there were any ghost writers. I kinda thought that Ann M. Martin was like superwoman and managed to write them all herself (though i wondered HOW she managed to do that!)
I thought this because at least on Sweet Valley High, it says "Created by Francine Pascal"...Ann's books don't say that do they?

This list is very interesting. Just wondering a few things, did Ann give an outline for all the books or did the ghost-writers make some of them up completely themselves? Were the ghost-writers given a choice in what books they wrote or were they just given the books? For example I notice Ellen Miles wrote nearly all the mysteries, was this because she liked writing mysteries or just because she was assigned them? Also I notice her first 3 regular books she wrote were mystery related as well. I also noticed Peter Lerangis only wrote 1 Mallory book most of the other characters he wrote 4 books each, Stacey had 5 and Claudia 6. I wonder again was this as a preference or the editors decide he didn't suit Mallory books? Anyway even if nobody knows the answer to these questions it is still interesting to see how these things break down

Polaris, I only know that Ann wrote the outline for the books and then the ghostwriters followed the outline.

^Also, if she really outlined each book, well depending to what extent, some of them sure turned out a far cry from those she wrote herself! She might have written something like (for Mallory and Dream Horse, the last book I read): Mallory convinces her parents to let her take riding lessons. Mal has lousy experience, "fails" at riding, etc. Subplot: Pike kids organize neighborhood talent show. And/or "take up space about Nina's blankie.
