^ It happened to me in eighth grade. My best friend started dating my ex after just a few weeks and we didn't speak for a long time afterwards. But we are still friends years later and neither of us have spoken to the guy since then. Sisters before misters.

I remember a lot of partner swapping within groups of friends when I was that age. At my school Logan would have dated at least 3 BSC members before graduating.

Alan seemed to go pretty overboard with the gifts, that did seem like he was, against what the narration claimed, desperate.
Otherwise a nice book, especially in the way it resolved the triangle relationship between Claudia, Stacey and Jeremy, a plotline of six books, the previous book already bringing some resolution(s) and this one continuing and further concluding, and that everyone acknowledged that Alan was acting really different and that didn't mean it wasn't genuine (Kristy was a little too hostile initially but that wasn't out-of-character or without basis), that Claudia knew this was a big change, and her and Alan was a relationship that others and she before would think was crazy, but a good change and it doesn't matter what others think.

I'm injured and will be stuck at home for awhile... so just decided to breeze through these. I really don't have anything better to do.
I'm kind of embarrassed to admit this, but I'm enjoying these! Idk, they're kind of a guilty pleasure for me. Maybe it's because I had low expectations.
This is my favorite one so far. It's just fun. The stupid Claudia and Stacey fight seems over (they still don't seem like best friends again, but it's much better). Stacey did a 180 and is almost TOO understanding, basically encouraging Claud to date Jeremy. Maybe it's because she kind of felt bad about dating him in the first place? Idk, it just doesn't align with her jealous behavior prior. But I prefer this over previous books.
Again, Jeremy just sucks. He ignores Claudia, then pouts when he finds out she's going to the dance with someone else. Well, maybe you should have asked her when you had the chance?
I unfortunately knew about the locker mixup, but I thought this happened in Disaster Date and not here. And it's actually really funny. Kristy's sports announcer narration was great, their realization of whose locker it was was great, Claudia describing her face as a traffic light... the whole thing was much funnier than I expected.
I like Claudia and Alan more than expected. Alan is definitely OTT with his gifts, especially for a 13 yo, but I can't help but find it all kind of sweet. I like that Mary Anne is open-minded about him and that Kristy is disgusted by the whole thing (did she forget she went to a couple dances with him back in the day? And that she said he was sort of cute? Lol, to be fair, that was about 13 years ago).
I liked reading about the English language program. I like all the details about Japanese culture and how Claudia feels connected to the Yashimotos. I wish we'd gotten a description of their dinner with the Kishis. We only get a brief summary. That would've been really cool and interesting to read about in detail.
I don't really have any problems with this one. It's the most positive one so far. I can't believe it, but I think I'm going to give it an 8? Not so much on quality (all of these except for Kristy's Big News and maybe Everything Changes are like 5 or lower in terms of quality), but simply based on how much I enjoyed it. Maybe a 7 is more fitting.
