My fellow friends, readers of the Babysitters Club - and perhaps BSC nerds. That's right. I am writing this entry because, frankly, I need someone to listen to my soap-box and I am hoping that you have had the same experiences as me.
You'll see why I don't want to be the only one...
Despite being an adult, in my twenties, I have been spending a lot of my free time reading BSC books. It's ridiculous. Perhaps it's just because I finished reading university texts, then actual adult books, that I want a change. Maybe it's because I am secretly still obsessed with the BSC books (I was in elementary school and I am a GUY, which kind of makes it worse).
But I am still proud of the BSC and when I was younger I secretly pretended I was their gay friend (and yes, I had books of my own, folks. Bye bye either Dawn, Mallory, Jessi or Abby - I didn't care - and hello ME!) Now I don't mind Abby too much, but that's besides the point.
Is anyone in a BSC craze RIGHT NOW? I need your help. Please speak!

I'll join your club! I've been reading all the Super Specials this summer, despite having actual adult books I'd like to read while I have the time!
It's a nice escape for the summer, so I don't feel guilty about it.

How are you reading them? Chronological order, all regular series only, whatever you pick out of the pile?

Hahaha! It's also been a Babysitters Club Summer for me, too. I, like you, 2hearts, am in my 20's and just recently graduated from college (not sure if you graduated but I meant that I am taking a break from text books, too). Anyway, it's been quite a boring summer. Pretty cold in my area, actually, so no going to the beach. Mostly I have been hanging out with freinds, going to the gym and trying to decide what to do with the rest of my life. This makes me depressed, so I read BSC to cheer myself up. No, I don't think you're weird. I think all of us on the boards have been a little obsessed with BSC at one point (most of us probably still are!).
And I love the idea of the BSC having a gay friend (Ducky from CD doesn't count since he was never officially outed!)!

I don't feel guilty at all about reading BSC. Never have and never will. I read a lot of books, but I love to read BSC. I probably will never stop reading them! I just read one today and am thinking about reading another.

And I love the idea of the BSC having a gay friend (Ducky from CD doesn't count since he was never officially outed!)! Imagine the Chapter 2 for that. "He is something called gay, which means that instead of going to dances with girls, he likes to go with other guys instead. It doesn't matter to us, of course."

On Saturday, my boyfriend and I went horseback riding on the trails at Rockwood Park. Then we got ice cream, and then I went swimming in the lake with my clothes on because it was really hot out but I didn't have a bathing suit with me. Ice cream and the beach made me think about Sea City, and I wished that Sea City was a real place and I could go there with all of you guys.

Aww, so sweet! I always loved that they could walk from their house out onto the beach... all the beach areas around here are over commercialised and so city like

I wish Sea City was real, too. I used to live in a beach, tourist town, and all we had were t-shirt shops and art galleries. I wish we had a Gurber Garden and a boardwalk! Sea City sounds awesome

Please speak! I'm in my 20's too. I went through this whole phase of feeling 'guilty' for still reading and enjoying them but then you know what I realised? If I like them, if they make me happy then I should just enjoy them. At the end of the day you're not hurting yourself or anyone by doing so, just enjoy!!!
