The kidnapping plot didn't turn out to be very exciting. The debate stuff, and Melissa and Lucas was more interesting! Love Abby and Kristy together though.

I liked this book. I think this might be my favorite Kristy book in FF. I liked reading about the debates and the near kidnapping of David Hawthorne (Terry Hoyt).

I just finished reading this tonight. I liked it. Its believe it or not the first FF book I ever read and it was a nice intro to the series for me although not as good as I hoped. The cover model really looks like Kristy as imagined by me!

I just read this for the first time. I actually really liked it. I was sort of lost on the whole Terry Hoyt thing, since I never read that book...so I have to check that one out next lol. Anyway, the only thing that annoyed me was Kristy and her saying how awesome dogs are. I, personally, don't like dogs much at all. I wanted to debate her! Haha!

Me too. I cant stand dogs - I would have loved to debate that with Kristy.. If they got rid of the kidnapping plot and concentrated more on the interesting stuff - Melissa and Lucas. It would have been interesting to see what happened if Lucas had been caught in the girls room

I thought the debate was more interesting too. I liked the topic - it was a fun, easy one.

I kind of liked this one. It sort of made me reminisce on the mysteries b/c I really did like them a lot. I enjoyed the Kristy/Abby arguments b/c they remind me of a friend I once had who argued everything with me! I loved hearing about the debates and wished I had been able to do something like that in school!

I liked this one, and I usually hate books where one or two characters are isolated from the group. The debate trip sounded like a blast and actually seemed like it could really happen. Just another reason I wish the super specials had been a little more normal. I loved that the ongoing debate was cats vs. dogs. It was way too appropriate for our board members.
I was pretty surprised that boys were allowed into the girls' rooms at certain times of the day! Like naughty things can only happen after dark, hee hee. Melissa and Lucas acted like they were ready to get it on any time anywhere. I thought it was pretty hilarious that he was in their room against the rules to play Scrabble of all things.
Was Terry/David actually in any early BSC books? I don't remember him, but apparently Stacey touched him with her magic. I'd like to go back and read knowing he was living a double-life.
Added to my list of reasons to like Kristy: Her idea of a slang/rude Scrabble word was "butt". She wore a fanny pack. Awesome. (Now I feel like making lists of all the girls' quirks...)

^ Terry appeared in one previous book. It was Stacey and the Mystery Money.

I loved this one! Very entertaining. Mystery Money was always one of my favorites growing up, and I love that they brought David/Terry back, I think he's a great character.
Abby...she just wanted to spend time with Kristy in D.C., awww. I thought the dog/cat debate was cute, especially how both girls wanted to argue the other side. I liked when Abby took a photo with the Charlie Chaplin statue. There's even a Wizard of Oz mention too, you can't even get away from it in FF ;D I wasn't too into the Melissa/Lucas stuff...she is so super annoying in both books she appears in.

Yeah, Melissa wasn't really a likeable character. It was a pretty forced girlpower moment when she announced that she would never purposely let Lucas win the debate even though she was so hot for him.
I hope our real secret service men aren't as incompetent as the guy who lost track of David. Yikes.

I just finish this book, yesterday. I enjoy reading it. They use my name, Melissa. I love dogs. I'm a dog person. Don't remember Melissa being in book #97.

Just finished this book (like 5 minutes ago...I am pathetic) and thought it was okay.
Some things that stood out to me: -Kristy was wearing a fanny pack. Who wears a fanny pack? I was the same age as the girls at the end of the series (which is kind of funny since they were 12 when I was born lol) and I would have died before wearing a fanny pack at that age. -I liked that Abby was in it even though she isn't part of the club anymore. -They let boys in the room as long as it was before 10? My kids would not be going on field trips at SMS that is for sure. -I usually do not subscribe to the Abby or Kristy is gay theory, but Abby came off a little not straight in her whole "I wanted us to have time together" comments. Kristy still didn't seem gay though. Maybe Abby is just really lonely. The BSC was her whole group of friends, so she is probably a little starved for human interaction now that she quit.
