I am re-reading the series and trying to despite Ann's attempts to make doing so impossible a semi timeline of the events of the girls' 7th grade year and maybe first year of 8th. We'll see about that. I just read "Dawn and the Impossible Three," which says she met MA (on the second day of Spring term) only 4 days after she came to CT. I attempted to decipher that that was Tues 1-6-87. From MA Saves the Day, it sounded like Dawn had come to CT must after Christmas (which lol as we know "just after" in bsc lingo could mean months, since the writers often have the notoriously annoying habit of not referring to the day before or even the followinf day as yesterday or tomorrow but rather the more generic "that day."
My question is isn't there a book that says something about Mrs. Schafer taking Jeff and Dawn winter clothes shopping at the very last minute, the night before school starts? I THINK that may have given further clue to when they moved.
Lol, all this coming from me, who is not much of a Dawn fan at all. Though I do have to admit, that at least in #4 and #5, it was MA NOT Dawn who was distancing herself from Kristy. I mean Dawn was not trying to take MA away from Kristy or lesson her friendship with her, that was all MA, so I begrudgingly admit to being wrong about that.
Thanks, Mona

I THINK that may have given further clue to when they moved. I think you're talking about The Babysitters Remember. In that, Dawn says that they moved to Connecticut in January and shopped for warmer clothes the weekend before school. I tend not to think about/analyze timelines because all the inconsistencies would make me crazy!

Well, I think MA Saves the Day is supposed to take place in Decemeber/January? I can't remember if they celebrated Christmas. I know that Thanksgiving was celebrated. But yeah, it sounds like January 6th sounds like a plausiable date.

Thanks Starlett, I will check that out. Lol, trying to figure out any time/days for BSC stuff can be a receipe for craziness making. I've attempted the first 6 books so far and am fading fast. Too hard and not worth it. I did find a 1987 calendar which helped a lot. Otempora541 MA saves the Day takes place between 1-5/ and 2-14. Richard and Sharon re-meet on 2-13. Frightening huh? I am not insane, just have been job hunting and since it's so hot outside and currently smoky from a mountain fire, this attempt at bsc clarification on a few things has been a project of sorts when I have some free time. More so it's been fun re-reading the earlier books. I had forgotten how the genuiness to them and how much more real the characters come across then in later books. I think that's also why I've been trying to figure out a semi timeline. I was disappointed that Christmas and New Years were skipped over. I would have enjoyed reading about the first BSC holidays and also MA and Richard's T-Giving with the Thomases would have been sweet. Tomorrow, after I add books 5-6, I'll attempt to post what I have come up with so far. Lol, we should somehow create a huge calendar and in different colors (have a color for each year of 8th grade) add in how many different things happened on the same day or time!
