kind of from personal experience, but i know that you don't just "grow out of" feeling uncomfortable with your body. with people who have lost a lot of weight, or who got really glamorous after a really awkward childhood, you don't adjust to being "pretty" right away. after a whole lifetime of hating her looks, i don't see mallory EVER feeling good about herself, even if she becomes really pretty. she's already conditioned to hate what she sees.

Mary Anne will have outgrown her shyness and she would be more confident in herself. Abby might go to Israel. Mallory will have better self-esteem. (I think that her friends at Riverbend can help her with her self-esteem.) Stacey will probably go to college in NY. I think Jessi will be studying various kinds of dance, just in case she can't make it in ballet. Claudia might do better in school. Dawn remained in California and she's on better terms with Sunny than when they were 13. Shannon will do well in college and she might study aboard. Kristy will have dealt with her daddy issues.

I think Mary Anne will always be sort of shy, although it may get better. She might sorta push herself to deal with things more as she gets older.
Kristy, I imagine, will always be Kristy. Casually dressed, sporty, close to her family. She'll probably get over the "daddy issues" somewhat, but she'll probably keep men at arm's length as an adult.
Claudia probably would become rebellious as an older teen. Drinking, partying, sleeping around. I do think it'd just be a phase though. She might go to some art college.
Stacey, I think, would get pretty popular in high school and maybe even act a little snobbish... although I imagine she'd maintain her BSC friendships to some degree.
Dawn would stay in California, but still miss Mary Anne. They might discover that they're even better step-sisters from a distance.
Mallory will grow up to be quite pretty, although she'll never get over her low self-esteem. She might be vulnerable to getting a really controlling boyfriend, not thinking that she could get another guy.
Jessi won't make it as a professional dancer, but dance will always be a part of her life. She might even teach ballet to young girls.
I don't know Abby enough to really predict anything, although I think her humor is major defense mechanism and she's a little too pleased with herself.

There's a fanfic that deals with this I think...Love the One You're With? It was quite good.

I was very awkward growing up and no one thought I was pretty until I went to college, pretty much. I was also unpopular. I dunno, in some respects there's always going to be a bullied 7th grader inside of me, but in other ways I've adjusted to being considered attractive and popular. Hahaahaha.

^ I know what you mean. I kind of lived in the shadow of a friend who' s more like a cousin but really good at everything all through school . Then when I went to college 1400 miles from where she was, well, I suddenly was just Katie, not half of LeAnne and Katie, and found myself one of the more popular girls on campus!

Yeah, I agree that Mal may not just grow out of feeling awkward. That's not to say she won't overcome it, but I think it's more likely that things will just click one day, and she'll realize that she's not the way she used to be. Happened to me.

I see Mallory turning into a stunning person as she grows older but she'll still have some insecurities. The effects of those insecurities will lead her into letting herself get taken advantaged of. She would want to get noticed anyway she can.

I could see Mary Anne start wanting to be a social worker in high school thinking that it'll be satisfying to apply what she has learned from toughening up from being so sensitive in her younger years towards her job by being able to give good synpathic advice to people who are depressed about their situations.
I also see Mal becoming really pretty in college and using that to attract a large group of friends and always surrounding herself with people because that was what she was used to growing up.

Kristy would take an interest in science and want to get into sports psychology or nutrition and study to work in an area that deals with working with youth. I don't think she's a lesbian like some fans have said in fanfiction, but I think she would go wild for a bit in her college years and in denial of liking Bart, or someone else that comes along. Mary Anne would be going to Dr. Reese more while transitioning from high school to undergrad and want to become a grief counsellor after her different losses (mom, Dawn moving, fire, Mimi, abandonment issues upon learning about Maynard). I definitely see her studying social work in attempt to break out of her shell and resolve her issues. She would finally learn how to make blackberry jam. Claudia would be into anime, pop art and would upgrade her book collection to Harry Potter as a late bloomer and get into science fiction novels. She would also enter art contests and get involved in stage design in Stoneybrook, Stamford and on occasion travel to New Jersey and NYC for them and visit Stacey during her trips. I see her studying theatre so she could do stage design, makeup artistry, costuming, a bit of everything involved in a production. I see her being an introvert more than in her teens, but knowing exactly what she wants and how to go after it. She would have a jewelry design business on the side and expand it after grad. For work while a student and after grad, I can also see her working at an art museum as a tour guide, and picking up "odd jobs" to do stuff like clothes and makeup until getting hired or doing contracts for celebrities and public figures. Stacey would be going to NYU to study fashion marketing and accounting and get her MA, she would love partying often and know club owners and get VIP easily. I really think she and Laine would be on the same page again, and Claudia would become good friends with Laine from her NYC visits. She would have her own flat if not share one with Laine, and only see her dad on big holidays (they would buy a big red crayon for the place too! A symbol of their long lasting friendship). I also think Laine would keep dating losers and Stacey would have to "save her" a few times until she meets someone good and it's bringing back feelings of the past of the divorce , her issues with robert and Laine dating King, who I'm going to guess was a toxic relationship and he may have turned possessive after the best friend breakup Dawn would go to UCLA and get into nutrition and culinary arts, and not to stereotype California but it wouldn't be far of a stretch to see her end up on a celebrity chef show either as a host or a guest...and Claudia would appear too on it since she made beautiful cake designs "back in the day" Since she is so obsessive about what's healthy and what's not, I can see her doing food and health research and studying biochemistry to get that far. Mallory-I think she would become really pretty and gain a lot of self-respect from being at the boarding school, away from being forced to be a mini-adult, but she will also feel some abandonment issues as Mary Anne and the two will grow closer and even have similar taste in books that have nothing to do with horse stories. I remember her interaction with Mary Anne in Baby Sitters Remember and how they talked about authors. She will publish the mice picture book on GoodReads or something online and it will become available in stores at some point and get praised for it's illustrations just like If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, and become a cult classic. I don't think she will be a famous, long-lasting author though, some of her books will just be known, and maybe instead of writing books, she'll write reviews for publications and media since she loves to spy and do research. Jessi-I see her moving on from ballet into yoga and recreational therapy, and exploring other forms of dance which she would take lessons in throughout her teens, and be a dance teacher while getting through school and in her 20's and early 30's as her creative job. She would study to be a recreation therapist and work with kids, and someone overlap with Kristy at times. Logan-Logan and Lewis would go to the same college somewhere else in the US to study business and open a farmer's market. They would crash frat parties and have a hard time fitting in too. Shannon-She would go to Europe to study, London or France, only to run into...Sally White, her arch enemy and/or frienemy. She would go all the way with a pHd and try to become a prof. I see her teaching virtually any subject in high school or university. If she stayed in the states, she would go to an Ivy League school. Abby-She would try so hard to build a fanbase and go to open mic events to do comedy, making references to pop culture that people now may find outdated, and would overdo it with the jewish jokes and come off like a combination of schmidt in new girl and sarah silverman. Also, she would very obsessed with working about and suffer from OCD wanting everything neat and clean.

As for Claudia, I could see her as a tattoo artist, covered in tattoos, piercings and the latest trends in cosmetic designs (split-tongue, balls embedded in her forehead, implanted screws for head ornaments, etc.). I could see her with a mohawk with the rest of her head shaved. She might get stretched out ear lobes with stones in them or an elongated neck. I could see her addicted to drinking with alcohol hidden through her room to replace her addiction to sweets.
For some reason I see them all hitting a period of time where they keep reliving a certain year of their lives over and over. They somehow get together after finding out that they all are experiencing the same thing including everybody from Stoneybrook from the time period when they were in eighth grade. The group designates the members of the BSC from way back when along with some of their former charges who have now all grown up along with a few notable classmates from back then. They go & solve the mystery of what had plaqued them then & now.
