I've never met Ann. When I was younger, I didn't like the idea of meeting authors or celebrities, even my favorites. I was very shy (and I'm still shy). I remember thinking I'd die seeing Ann in person. Right now I would have been embarrassed to meet her. I would probably make up a lame excuse saying its a gift for my younger sister or something

I've kind of met her . We chat via Facebook messenger and she's replied to a few of my questions .

I met her at a book signing in the summer of 1995, like around the time the movie came out. My mom took me, my sister and my friend. I remember waiting in a HUGE line, like it went down the street. I assume we were allowed to bring our own books to be signed because I brought my copy of Kristy's Great Idea, since I figured that was an important one. I remember waiting a very long time before it was our turn. Ann wasn't talking with anyone since the line was so long. But she smiled and said hi to me and I thanked her for signing my book. I still have it - when my mom made me get rid of my BSC books, this was one I was insistent on keeping.
