I always thought the babysitters were acting a bit like bullies when they turn the hose on Marci and her friends. I don't think that's something that Ann would have them do in the books. I guess plots have to change for television for entertainment value.
I kind of like how at the end, the tape pauses at Mary Anne and Logan facing one another and smiling (like on the cover of MA vs. Logan).

Didn't they also turn a hose on Cokie and co. in the movie?

Oh yeah, something similar. I think they make them meet at a field at a time when they know the sprinkler system turns on.

When I first watched this episode, I was extremely picky about the inconsistencies. Mary Anne is too tall! Mary Anne had brown eyes, not blue! Claudia is not Japanese enough! Mallory's hair is too fake! Kristy's skin is too pale! Dawn has a Chicago accent, not a California! I could go on forever.
But now I enjoyed this episode quite a bit. It has a lot of WTF moments but, overall, a pretty cute episode. However, the BSC is just as clique-y as the Brunettes...

Agreed, especially about Mary Anne's coloring...Mary Anne has dark hair and brown eyes, not pale hair and not blue eyes.

The girls walked through a park eating popsicles then took turns taking group pictures in front of a tree during the theme song. Holy crap, Claudia had a full sized pair of sunglasses hanging from an earring. My lobe weeps for her. Then they pulled an enormous bag of popcorn out of thin air.
Jessi really wanted some pizza.
I liked the Kristy/Logan dynamic in this one. What if those two had become their own set of best friends?
Ooh, Logan seductively tying Marcy’s roller blade while Kristy spied on them. Lol.
OMG I just got the title of this episode!!! Dawn called them The Brunettes because they were such big fans of Logan Bruno. I don’t know how I missed that every single time that I’ve seen this.
Kristy already bombed out on spying on Logan by getting tangled in a net full of beach balls, and yet she thought it was a killer plan for all of them to do it.
Jackie looked creepy with his faded-out Joker makeup, and he just. kept. wearing. it. Nobody said “Jackie, wash your face?”
