I loved Maths. It was the only thing about school I did like, in England you can give up Maths after GCSE level in year 11 at 16. I always thought the best way to try and get Claudia to learn maths would be too teach her it on a level she could understand, making it apply to her life - she coul go sales shopping and work out what percentages the clothes she wants are being reduced by .

Solving word problems that reference jewelry making, splitting candy and chocolate among friends, how to divide a huge sum of money for art supplies, clothes etc. categorizing her nancy drew books and making fractions out of those.....so many creative things, but the girl just doesn't care, she's going to be an artist LOL

^I never thought of that way. Claudia really did (willingly) use math daily. Too bad there weren't more "Gertrude" related problems for her solve.
