In the Superspecial wishlist thread, most people have been suggesting places they want the babysitters to go. I personally find the non-vacation SSs more interesting. What are some ideas for Super Specials that don't involve trips out of Stoneybrook?
I think they should have had a holiday SS, perferably Christmas but maybe Valentine's Day, Easter or Halloween instead.

I wouldn't have minded if they made a super special about the New Year.

I sometimes think about which regular books could be stretched out to super specials. Something like the Little Miss Stoneybrook pageant or the summer play group in Claudia and Mean Janine. I didn't like the school spirit war book, but it could have been interesting considering the club members had such vast opinions of it and other classmates could have had chapters too.

I have said this before and may still be in the minority, but, I would have enjoyed more (longer) books taking place in Stoneybrook.
The Ghost at Dawn's House (had the 'ghost' been well more ghostly or lasted..) could have tied in even with Claudia and the Phantom Phone Calls.
Kristy and the Missing Child would have made a fascinating Super Special, particularly if Mr. Kuhn had been contacted and perhaps came to Stoneybrook to aid in the search for his son.
I know this was semi-done in Snowbound, but after reading about Claudia needing to spend the night at the Perkins' and Mal and Mary Anne (sort of) being extra in charge at the Pikes', given the potential for snowy weather in CT, a longer version of a parent not being able to come home the same day would have been interesting.

An Easter BSC book would definitely be great! I'd love to read more Valentine's Day BSC books too.

I would have liked a Christmas SS.
I liked the Island Adventure SS because it was in Stoneybrook. Snowbound, too. So, I guess another SS like that, where some sort of big event/emergency happens in Stoneybrook, would have been good.

I think it would have interesting if there was a super special about Memorial Day. I think it would've been intersting to see their thoughts about the men and women who gave their lives for the U.S.A.

For a holiday book what about a Father's Day celebration? Since a good 50% of the club had some sort of Daddy Issues it could make for an interesting read.

^I wished there had been some mention of Father's Day in a BSC book. Ann went overboard with making most all male characters either background, disappearing soon, or well dead as in a couple husbands.
I was looking at the Complete Guide last week and for a lot of the Client Families, the father is either not mentioned at all or if he is, it's like a few words were the mother has a longer description.

Sparklymouse, a Father's Day super special would have been interesting.
I'm pretty sure Mother's Day got mentioned in the regular series but I wouldn't mind a Mother's Day super special.

They took the kids to a carnival or something in Kristy and the Mother's Day Surprise. I think they had a father/daughter picnic in one of the TV episodes, but other than that the dads got nada.

I wouldn't mind an Earth Day super special because I would like to see Dawn go overboard like she did in Dawn Saves The Planet. I also wouldn't mind a Halloween super special.

a memorial day super special would have been really cool. i always like the part in aloha where claudia has to come to terms with the fact that the japanese bombed pearl harbor, and in european vacation where stacey visits the beaches of normandy. the writers could have done something really amazing with a whole book of those things.

^ I liked those two plotlines and I wouldn't mind a super special where I read about the girls and their thoughts and actions on Memorial Day.
