I despise California Girls because of the way Mallory was treated. Any book that has Mal treated badly I don't read.

Babysitters Winter Vacation. I just find it super boring.

Winter vacation, I remember absolutely nothing from it. Yeah and there's a few recycled plots too. Mallory and her "Harriet the Spy" journaling and the Stacey and Claudia romances.

Was this yet another reminder that girls can and should play any and all roles? I agree with that type of thinking but imo Peter Pan is a male character, not Kristy or true real life impersonations of. Actually, that's not fair. Peter Pan is traditionally played by a woman in the theatre, so Kristy playing him is actually close to how they'd cast him in real life. I personally liked this special, but I think that's because there was a lot of my favourite charge in it.

I still stand by my previous decision that Starring the Babysitter's Club is the worst. I don't think there's anything particularly special about putting on a play. It would have been better, in my opinion, if a less common play was chosen so that at least the play plot would have been new and exciting. Somehow, the fact that all of the BSC members and their charges had roles in the play bothered me more than when they won the lottery, haha.

Aloha Baby-Sitters is pretty awful and so boring and so is Starring the baby-sitters club. I hate how Jessi was so arrogant in thinking she'll get the lead.
California Girls is another one I'm starting to dislike now because of the way Mallory is treated. Why does Ann M Martin hate her so?
Shadow Lake-is another boring one. These are my top four.

I despise California Girls because of the way Mallory was treated. Any book that has Mal treated badly I don't read. Poor Mal. She's treated horribly in most Super Specials. California Girls, New York New York, Sea City Here We Come, and probably more. The worst would have to be Shadow Lake. I HATE this one. I tried to reread it but it was so boring I skipped it in my Super Special rereads.

I can't vote yet. I haven't read all the Super Specials. So far, my least favorite super special book is Island Adventures.

I can't stand Winter Vacation only because I loathe the school trip books. I'm surprised nobody killed each other given the shenanigans they got themselves in.

After reading all of them, I have to say I enjoyed Sea City, Here We Come! the least. I'm not sure why- I liked the other Sea City books. I guess I just didn't get WHY they were all in Sea City and a couple of plot points really needed to be fleshed out more (Stacey being irritated with Mrs. Barrett and Jessi the supersitter) for them to be interesting.
Aloha is a close second. I barely read it a week ago and don't remember much about it.

The Sea City super special doesn't have the same vibe as the regular Sea City books. The original books worked because two sitters were totally separated from the real world and had an idyllic boardwalk vacation. The super special had too many people and conflicts to feel like a vacation at all. It was just the BSC at the beach.

That’s well said. It didn’t feel like a vacation!

That’s well said. It didn’t feel like a vacation! Definitely not a vacation. The hurricane was uneventful and seems like it was never mentioned again. Those kinds of events can define people. I liked the Mallory and Toby storyline a lot even though it wasn’t the best thing for Mal. He was such a Player don’t you think, probably had at least 5 girlfriends on the go. Not too unrealistic that he thought Mal was older as she hung out with older kids too.
