In the back of Graduation Day, AMM throws a few numbers at us:
Number of BSC and Friends Forever books: 145 Number of BSC Super Specials, Portrait Collections, and Special Editions: 28 Number of BSC Mysteries: 40 Total Number of BSC books: 213
(There is also a "Total number of pages in these 213 books: 31570". Since 213 doesn't divide 31570, I assume someone, probably some poor Scholastic intern, actually added together the page counts for all 213 books, rather than assuming an average page count and multiplying it by 213. I love math, but I don't envy that person.)
Here is my question. I understand the 145 (131 regular series BSC books + 12 Friends Forever books + 2 Friends Forever Specials = 145) and the 40 (36 mysteries + 4 super mysteries). The 28 threw me for a loop, because 15 Super Specials + 6 Portrait Collection books = 21, and as far as I know, only three books were published as "Special Edition Readers' Request". So that's four books that are unaccounted for.
What four books do you think Scholastic had in mind? This is interesting to me because there are definitely more than four other books published with a BSC logo on the front. Off the top of my head I can think of the Complete Guide, Chain Letter, Secret Santa, the postcard book, the two movie books, the baby-sitting guide, and the notebook.

not all of the "other" books were written like the main series books (from a BSC-er's point of view). the chain letter and secret santa were, since they were letters. maybe AMM or whoever counted these as special edition books, while the other books were just companion books to the series.

I have two novelizations. One is a paperback a little thicker than a regular BSC book with detailed dialogue and descriptions of every scene, and the other is a skinny hardcover, about as thick as a picture book, with movie stills on every page and much less detailed writing. The picture book-type one came with either a necklace or a charm, some type of metal BSC accessory. edited to add links!

Oh ok. I just had the paperback with the movie stills pages in the middle.
