This is thread to ask your random nagging questions about BSC canon.
My question--the tree that Mallory sits under when she meets Jessi, is it ever mentioned what kind of tree it is?

You beat me to it, BooBoo, It's on page 66 of the new cover edition. Because this question made me wonder, "the girlie tree" (at SES) mentioned in TSB was a pine tree. Page 184. Another Pike question: When did they get their second station wagon? In the earlier books the whole family packed into one car--except from going to Sea City. In most later books, they had two wagons, with the exception of I believe at least one where perhaps the Ghostie "forgot" about car #2.

Maybe we're making an assumption; they may have had it all along and just not have mentioned it. I doubt they would ahve rented another one for Sea City.

Possibly but then why cram into one car? Maybe the earlier books focused more on the Pikes as a family and less on them individually? Or I guess even vice versa? Speaking of renting a car, didn't they do so for SS#10 or am I making that up? I'm almost certain they rented a van.

I think in Stoneybrook you can just fit an infinite number of people in your cars and comfort and safety is never an issue. Between the Pikes and the Junk Bucket trips there were a lot of opportunities to win the "who will fly through the windshield first" award.

What grade did Stoneybrook Academy go up to? 5th, 8th, 12th?

I think Stoneybrook Academy was just a private elementary school. K-5. If so, I wonder if Karen and one day Andrew and Emily would move onto Stoneybrook Day School? That's another related question, is SDS K-8 or K-12? Maybe because of some of the Courses Shannon took, I always got the impression it went all the way through HS.

SDS is definitely K-12 because Shannon mentions it several times. I would assume that Karen, Andrew, and Emily would move to SDS if SA is indeed an elementary school only rather than go to Kelsey and then SHS.

My guess is K-8 for SA

I looked at the Complete Guide To The Baby-Sitters Club and I haven't seen the grade that Stoneybrook Academy goes up to.

I have no proof, but I think Karen's school was only up to 5th grade. Whenever she talked about the "big kids" they were, like, 10 year olds.

There could still be 6-8 if they were somewhat separat from K-5
