Maybe it depends on the ghostwriter. The mysteries were almost all written by the same ghostwriter, I think, so maybe she happened to especially like writing chapter 2s that way.

In Claudia and the Clue in the Photograph, she photographed each member that walked into her room and then used their final pose to relate to something about their personality. And I loved the Charm Bracelet theme in Claudia and the Recipe for Dangerous

^i really like the charm bracelet theme, too, Supprazz. I've also spent too much time trying to figure out the charms on the cover of the prequel. Kristy has the dog bone and Claudia the artist's palet. The "confusing" ones are Mary Anne (key)? and Stacey (lock)? Unless the two were meant to discover some secret about one another. Or Mary Anne's key was like the "key to her past in the attic (in this book her mom's dolls) and Stacey's lock was about packing to move to Stoneybrook? I don't know.

In Claudia Kishi, Middle School Dropout, Claudia talks about what kind of portrait she would draw of each sitter.

^ Yeah, different kind of geniuses. Jessi would be a dance genius. Claudia would be a creative genius. Abby is the comic genius. Mallory's the writing genius. Mary Anne's the organizational genius. Shannon may be a plain genius. Kristy's the buisness genius. Logan's the sports genius.

Reminds me of the theory about different kinds of intelligence (spatial, kinetic, etc.)

LOL I read that as Shannon being a genius on plainness.
What kinds of portraits did Claudia end up saying she would paint of each of the sitters in Middle School Dropout?

^ With Kristy, it would be of that in motion and chaos. For Mary Anne, it would capture her soft, tender persnality. With Stacey, it would have been strength, beauty and elegance. For Abby, the portrait will have an energetic feeling, with a lot of bright, strong colors. With Jessi, it would be grace and power. With Mallory, it would be a quiet space.
For Shannon, Claudia chose Shannon's activities and achivements. For Logan, she chose it to be fun and whimsical to show his sense of humor but with softer colors because he's supposed to be understanding and sweet.

That sounds neat. I'd like to see these portraits actually. It's sweet how Claudia put a lot of thought into it, catering to each of their personalities.
