Why didn't Jessi ever sit with the Grade 8 BSCers when she was taking synchronized swimming in JGM? She had lunch fourth period but then when she switched to synchro from gym she got put into the fifth period lunch group and, as evidenced by MA's school schedule in LLMA, the 8th graders have lunch during fifth period. So why didn't she ever sit with them?
Also why did Jessi and Elise have to rush so much to call home to ask permission to go practice at the pool after class? They had lunch the next period. (Or at least Jessi did. I can't be sure about Elise.)
And Poor Mallory! (Seriously.) Jessi just totally ditched her, for gym class and lunch in this book.

She probably didn't sit with them because the ghostwriters didn't remember things like when lunch periods were.
Wonder who Mallory got stuck sitting with at lunch?

Maybe Mallory sat by herself at lunch.

I'm sorry this reply is so incredibly late but I forgot I'd asked these questions on this board. Thanks for you replies, candykane (love the KGI name) and anzuhana.
candykane: I'm sure the the ghostwriters did forget. I think what I was really trying to say was that I wished the ghosties hadn't forgotten that the 8th graders had lunch 5th period because I think it would been fun to read about Jessi having lunch with them.
And also I was trying to express how badly I felt for Mallory that she wouldn't have Jessi to sit with either at lunch or to have her for moral support/blocking the boys' view of her in gym class, especially because what she wanted so badly in Hello Mallory was a best friend, which she found in Jessi. (I have the feeling that she thought Jessi abandoned her at a crucial time for her (Mallory) in taking the synchro course instead of regular gym.)
anzuhana: I bet Mallory did sit by herself at lunch because it seems she lost the friends she used to sit with (before Jessi moved to Stoneybrook) because they were making fun of Jessi and saying she didn't belong in Stoneybrook/SMS.

i always assumed that (ignoring which periods were actually designated for lunch) since jessi was moved to the very next lunch period -- not two lunch periods over -- it would have put her with the seventh graders, not eighth graders. obviously since the writers specify which lunch period is which my theory doesn't make much sense, but that's how i always imagined it.

Unless the 7th Graders ate after the 8th Graders which makes even less sense than all three grades being split up for lunch. Jessi having lunch with the older girls might have been interesting.

It would have been fun if Jessi ate with the 7th graders while Claudia was in 7th grade. I wonder if Claudia would have embraced her or been even more embarrassed to be seen with her.

I haven't read the book(s) where Claudia was put back into 7th grade. That would be interesting to see, though.

I think Claudia would just hug her glad to have at least one friend
