Has anyone else noticed that Hodges sometimes draws noses funny -- almost as if there is a little black blob in the middle of the face? The cover I can think of that describes this the best is Mary Anne on the cover of Mary Anne and the Little Princess. Even as a kid, the nose bothered me -- and I noticed he has done that on the covers before. To me, it really draws the attention away.
Thoughts? Comments? Do you know of other books where something is off (nose, etc)?

To me, the main consistently "off' thing besides the age of the girls is that often times the Charges faces look like OLDER people in a kids' body. Claire on the cover of SS1 is an example and so are most Charlotte illustrations.

So true -- I can see that!
Or the proportions of the bodies look off.

I see what you mean about the noses. They sometimes look like he forgot to do the nose and had to go back at the very last minute to add one. :/
A lot of times, people look older. I'm looking at MA's Bad-Luck Mystery right now, and Jamie looks like he's about 8 or 9 years old.
Many times the covers don't reflect what's written at all. I just finished rereading Mallory and the Trouble with Twins, and Mal has brown eyes on the cover. Marilyn and Carolyn's dresses aren't at all as described. And Dawn never has that super long pale (almost white) blond hair on the covers.
