This is going to seem like a stupid question, but I got 'Stacey's Lie' about a year and a half ago. What's strange about my copy is that it looks very short - about half the width of a regular BSC book. BUT it does have the standard 15 chapters and 162 pages. The reason for this is because the pages are very thin, definitely not like the paper on the other BSC books. I'm just wondering if this is the case for all copies of book #76, or I just have a freaky rare edition. Thanks in advance for comments, questions, or answers.

I'm not at home, but I'll try to get back with you tomorrow about this. I don't remember mine being any thinner than the others. I just sorted through my BSC books over the weekend and I don't remember anything odd about Stacey's Life. You might have a special one!

I just checked my copy and it's normal. The cover is the same as yours. Not sure why yours is the way it is!

I've seen the skinny version of Stacey's Lie before. Does yours have all the advertisements in the back of the book? That's the only thing I can think of that could be missing.

My copy of Mary Anne's Makeover is exactly the same as your describing, and the paper is different, kind of smooth instead of the regular kind. Maybe there were a few printing runs where they did use different kinds of paper?....strange!

Maybe we should look for other BSC books that look shorter.

^ Well, these two books are later books, so they probably weren't printed as much as the earlier books.

I think she meant why they printed a small amount of the skinny versions, not of the books in general. Mary Anne's Makeover was less than halfway through the series so it's not like the series was on its deathbed at that point. I wish the whole series was in the skinny versions. The smaller the books, the easier they are to store.

Me, too. I'm sure I could've fit more of my books in my book shelf had the books been smaller.

^ Congratulations. I don't want a bookshelf. At least I was able to fit all books in a bookcase, a drawer and a backpack.

Is the thin paper like Bible paper?

I could have sworn I already posted on this....oh well, whatever....
My copy of Claudia and the Great Search is like this as well. Even the cover feels weird, and it's thinner than the other books. Hmm, maybe they're twins...
