In this one Stacey auditioned to be a model. All the BSC were very excited about her prospects. Dawn had to share that her cousin was a model who traveled around the world and made $50! an hour. Hee. Dawn’s cousin was not a supermodel.
So, Stacey won her catwalk competition (where she rocked a dress with a big bow on her butt) and was supposed to shoot a spread for a magazine or something (I wasn’t really paying attention to that part). But…she wanted to be at the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs play that the club was putting on with some charges. Lame, Stace, lame.
The best outfit in this whole episode dedicated to Stacey’s career in fashion was on the baby that Claudia was holding in the audience of the play. The kid had to be a Prezzioso. She was wearing a zebra print jacket with bright pink trim and a huge stretchy pink headband. Awesome.

At the beginning, Dawn and Claudia are looking at photographs and Claudia shows Dawn a picture she likes, which Dawn disagrees with. THEN Claudia goes, "Stacey, YOU'LL appreciate this. YOU'VE got great taste."
Ohh...BURN!

The part where Stacey says to the little girl, "We're all best friends. You can be our friend, too." And then kisses her on the cheek... I thought that was kind of creepy.

I liked the scene where Dawn challenges Kristy after she jokes that she'll lend Stacey her Krushers uniform. It showed the sometimes tension between them that was presented in the series. Also, when Mary Anne shows Dawn an outfit for Stacey in a magazine and Dawn comments, "Too little girl-ish" and then shows one that she likes which is a hippie girl in a sunflower field. Bwaha. I liked the outfits that Stacey decided to model. Even the ones that they didn't approve of.

I think Stacey randomly kissing the child was odd and as a mom of a little boy would not want a stranger to hug or kiss him.
Jessi was obnoxious wanting details about the modeling.
Where was Stacey's mom in all this? She's still a minor but seemed to be managing her modeling career on her own.
Kristy had a bit of an elitist attitude at the end.

Where was Stacey's mom in all this? She's still a minor but seemed to be managing her modeling career on her own. Was Stacey's mom even in the episode? I recently watched this one but I can't remember. I was kind of annoyed at the scene where Stacey said "Mrs. Stewart says I'm getting fat." The woman had only known Stacey for about a week; she wouldn't know in that short time whether Stacey had gained weight. Also, what a crappy thing to say to an already thin 13-year-old girl. Especially in Stacey's case, being so limited already with her food due to diabetes (not that Mrs. Stewart knew about that, but still). I feel like they just threw that line in there so they could have the token "that's why some models are anorexic" conversation.

I had always wanted to see this episode as a kid (since Stacey was my favorite sitter, and I preferred the "teenagery" plots, like someone becoming a model). I'm glad I got to see it now.
These kinds of plots are pretty cliched (so-and-so has a chance at fame and fortune, realizes she'd prefer the comforts of her small town life and gives up her new high life in the end), and we're usually supposed to feel the character made the right decision...but seriously, Stacey, you have to make it to EVERY event the BSC puts together? You couldn't even hold out long enough to take advantage of the trip to Hollywood you won?

I’m wondering how/why the mall lady called Stacey at the BSC meeting.
The photographer guy kinda creeped me out. I don’t think that cameras were that bad in the 90s that he had to be a foot away from her face.
Dawn’s wig hovered over top of her real hair for the entire episode. Mallory’s looked like an old Barbie doll’s hair that you try to brush out, but it just gets rattier.
Stacey actually looked super cute in the runway show. She could wear that polka dot dress now. One of the other girl’s straw hats was so big that it looked like a sombrero. The third one had a large fake flower stuck to the entire front of her shirt. The last girl was in a raincoat and umbrella.
They were all really crappy to Charlotte, forcing her to star in the play because she had the right “look.”

Watching this one now. It has some great points/fashion etc. except what on earth was the point of the play and making Charlotte be Snow White? Charlotte could have done something more behind the scenes to help boost her confidence all the same. I understand public speaking is an important skill but she’s 7 or 8 years old and mentions Little Miss Stoneybrook so she was traumatised. At least Stacey helped encourage Charlotte to get back on the horse. And there weren’t many people at the play and it was in a lounge room so it was kind of a strange concept I thought. This “very important” play. Had to laugh at Stacey needing to be with the BSC especially when all kids want these days is to be Insta famous influencers. The lady’s expression when Stacey turned it all down cracked me up. Ah this show was so innocent.

This was one of the few episodes I watched as a kid. The only things I remember are the cool hat, and the weird mouth clicking thing Stacey did during the play because it was so disruptive and odd.
