I kind of liked this one even though we’ve seen/read Stacey’s issues with her parents way too many times. I liked the baby-sitting storyline with the Barretts. Buddy thought he had to be the man of the house. Lol moment. Stacey and Buddy were talking about their dads. Buddy said he didn’t see his much, and Stacey said maybe he would hang out with him more when he (Buddy) was older. Suave Buddy replied “When I’m older I’m hanging out with you.” I had to look the guy who played Buddy up on IMDb because he looked really familiar and it was bugging me. Buddy Barrett grew up to look a bit like Ben Affleck. He could be the 3rd Affleck brother. Maybe Charlotte was seeing the future when she had a crush on him in Jessi and the Mystery of the Stolen Secrets.
The dads! Mr. McGill looked like a young version of Rory’s grandpa off of Gilmore Girls. Richard looked exactly how I pictured him. Big bald spot on the top of his head, big glasses. He wore a bow tie to the father-daughter picnic the girls hosted. Watson was very tall and skinny. If I remember correctly, he looked very similar to movie Watson. Mr. Kishi was kinda nerdy looking. Mrs. Kishi was in another episode and she was much hotter than her husband. Mr. Ramsey bopped along in his chair when the girls did their dance routine, which was kinda cute. (His dancing was cute, not the funny running man routine that Jessi choreographed.) I don’t really remember Mallory’s dad. He must be a wallflower just like his daughter.

It's moments like this when I have to make sure I didn't have amnesia. I saw this movie a dozen times and don't remember Buddy at all. I remember everything about the dancing and the New York/Stoneybrook plot

Awe the intro to this one is really cute. I like how Kristy surprises Mary Anne. And look at the walk in Mallory. She looks half paralyzed! And Stacey and Jessi, how could you have not seen them coming?
Buddy has blonde hair, right? This kid has brown hair. And LOL at his comment at Stacey: "When I'm older I will be hanging out with you!"
Awe, the actor who plays Jason is totally gay. I can tell by the way he ran across the street. He is cute though, he reminds me of a guy I used to date. And why is Claudia talking to Stacey on the phone like she's in the middle of a storm or something? Stacey's only in NYC, it's the 90s, I'm sure the reception is really good, haha. I love the 90s NYC street scenes.
I really like Dawn's jumpsuit one scene. The styling of the girls is pretty good although I don't think Claud's outfits are as outrageous as they should be. LOL at the way Ed says Anastasia Elizabeth. He doesn't look like how I picture him.

I really have to make a point of watching this one again sometime soon, because I'm reading this thread and realizing I don't remember ANYTHING about this video!

Ha ha, I haven't seen this episode since I was a kid, and yet I remember a bunch of details from it. The part I remember most clearly is, as you mentioned, when Buddy says his weird "When I'm older I want to hang out with you" line. Weren't they walking back from the dentist together (and Stacey was holding a balloon shaped like a tooth)? And was she wearing a mini dress that had a red and white checked skirt and a blue denim top? I remember when I was little (when Stacey was my favorite) that I thought she looked AWESOME in that outfit, and I totally wanted one just like it when I was older. And yeah, I remember it sounding weird when Ed calls her by Anastasia Elizabeth. He was played by the same guy who played Clarissa's dad on Clarissa Explains It All, so it felt unnatural seeing him play Stacey's dad. And FWIW, I've always pictured Buddy as having brown hair instead of blonde hair. Also, check out Buddy all grown up.

You described that scene perfectly. I don't mean to be mean but Buddy looked like a kid junkie to me. I laughed at Stacey's one hairstyle in this episode. They really overemphasized the fluffy, perm style hair (which I guess was a good thing). But Stacey has her fluffy hair down except for a big braid in the side hanging down the front of her face with this HUGE pink scrunchie. The scrunchie often gets in her face and would be annoying to me.

I don't remember anything about the dentist and Buddy at all, or that outfit. Mostly the dance item and the NYC scenes.

I watched this one today! I liked seeing all the dads. Watson didn't look much how I picture him, he was too thin and had too much hair. Plus, I thought book Watson wore glasses? TV Watson didn't. I couldn't tell if the NYC scenes were actually filmed in NYC, but I doubt it. It was probably just New Jersey like all the other episodes. There is a scene during a BSC meeting where Stacey's complaining about her life being divided and says none of them understand what that's like. Um, did you forget about Dawn? Then she tells them about a time she left her tights in Stoneybrook so she had to wear knee socks with her miniskirt and OMG it was freezing! I guess you can't buy tights in New York...

I thought it read somewhere that the TV episodes were filmed in New York state. They, naturally, could have been shot in multiple places.

Plus, they have Danny Tamberelli, and Pete and Pete was filmed in NJ as well. I do think the NYC scenes were shot in NYC. It looks like NYC rather than a large NJ city to me - most of them are not in good condition.

I finally watched this one again. I didn't own this one when I was little, but I guess I must have seen it over and over, because I remembered so many things from this episode. Really random things, like how funny I thought it was when Jason called Stoneybrook Stoneyriver, and that I always thought Mrs. McGill delivered her "You should borrow it" line very strange (when talking about her scarf), like she put too much emphasis on the word "it" for some reason.
Anyway, lots of things to say about this episode.
-I already complained in the Baby-sitters vs the Boy Sitters thread about how annoying it was that Jackie "accidentally" spilled his milk by just pushing it over. Suzi does the same thing in this episode, and it's even worse. Somebody teach these kids to act!
-I like the actress they got for Maureen; she looked good.
-Marnie didn't look anything like Marnie. She had dark hair.
-I loved Jason when I was little! He reminded me very much of Sam from Clarissa Explains It All.
-As I mentioned above, that scene between Buddy and Stacey was practically carved in stone in my brain. I loved the outfit she wore, and Buddy's weird line where he's hitting on her.
-They actually danced well, considering most of the episodes made it look like they rehearsed for about 5 minutes before filming.

In this beginning they were all randomly walking alone in a park and ran into each other one by one until the group became whole.
I like a lot of the clothes in this episode. Claudia had a pretty purple flower dress. Kristy had a funky cowboy print shirt. Dawn had an interesting jumpsuit.
Why did Stacey and Dawn need to share that first Barretts job?
Stacey was in New York once and left her tights in Stoneybrook! She had to wear a mini skirt with knee socks! (Cher Horowitz would approve.) Stacey should have talked to Karen about how to be a successful two-two.
Had Claudia ever mentioned eating sushi before? Dawn somewhat demanded it for the potluck.
Stacey’s friend, Jason, was cute. He was a bad fake sneezer. IMDb says that his name is Tom Garlick (lol), and this was his only acting role ever. I think he killed it.
Stacey’s list was super lame. Dad & museums vs. Mom & Babysitters Club.
I still think that Stacey's neighborhood looked like Sesame Street.
Watson called Kristy “Kristen.” Why didn’t she punch him?
The dancing scene at the end was epic. All of the dads were so dweeby. I still cannot see Mallory’s dad in this, but there were the backs of 6 guys’ heads at one point.
