Little Miss Stoneybrook... and Dawn
1. The dumb horror movie sounding title.
2. The Perkins girls amazing talents. I don't dislike them, they just seem... unrealistic.
3. Stoneybrook's own Benjamin Button: Sabrina Bouvier

Jessi's Secret Language:
1. Jessi becomes fluent (or ver well versed) in sign language practically over night.
2. Matt Braddock always being referred to as deaf "but a good ballplayer anyway." I think this book starts that "chapter 2 like" description of him. To me, that gives the vibe of surprise. Like, "how could a deaf person possibly be a good softball player?"
3. That the subplot is ballet/Jessi based, too.

Mary Anne's Bad-Luck Mystery
1.That Grace had a crush on Logan in this book while in other books, it was Cokie who liked Logan
2. That Charlie let the BSC go by themselves into the cemetery
3. That Mary Anne read Stephen King books. It seems OOC for her to read such books and for Richard to allow her to read them.
Next book: Stacey's Mistake

Stacey's Mistake
1. Stacey's attitude at the beginning.
2. Mary Anne in general. She was horrid to Dawn. She demanded Stacey tell them what to wear.
3. Laine and Claudia sniping at each other
Next. Claudia and the bad joke

Claudia and the Bad Joke
1. That neither John or Rioko contacted the Sobaks about Betsy's prank. I think that is worse than the the Sobaks not calling them because they (J and R) were supposed to be Claud's parents!
2. The BSC's joke war on Betsy.
3. That the entire book focused on jokes.

Kristy and the Walking Disaster
1. The Bashers making fun of the Krushers. 2. The triplets being brats to Claire, Nicky, Matt and Margo. 3. Gabbie being on the team. Two and a half seems a little young.
Next book: Mallory and the Trouble With Twins

Mallory and the Trouble With Twins:
1. Mrs. Arnold getting not only angry with Claudia but doing so in front of Carolyn and Marilyn over the piano school switch.
2. The marked beginning of Mal's whining about being an 11 year old baby.
3. That ear-piercing rivalled the twins as the main plot. We get how "dibbly fresh" pierced ears are, Ann. Enough already.

Dawn on the Coast
1. Dawn's list 2. Dawn saying she'll never leave her mom 3. Dawn's flight to California
Next book: Kristy and the Mother Day's Surprise
|
|
|
Post by zoar3 on Mar 7, 2011 20:40:26 GMT -5
Kristy and the Mother's Day Surprise:
1. Emily Michelle's "magic" arrival in Stoneybrook and all the TB kids not questioning why their parents only told them they day before her arrival.
2. Mimi's continuing decline especially over the lunches.
3. This isn't really about this book, but I always thought it stunk that Father's Day never got any recognition (like a BSC event).

Mary Anne and the Search for Tigger

Next: Jessi and the Superbrat

Jessi and the Superbrat
1. The cover. I think everyone on the cover looks horrible. 2. Jessi thinking that Derek was the character he played. I would think that Jessi knew that Derek and his character weren't the same. 3. Jessi not catching on that it was Derek that was the brat.

Welcome Back, Stacey
1. I wish the "goodbye" scene between Ed and Stacey had been a little longer, more heartfelt. I mean I know Stacey is uber mature but Ed could have said he'd come visit her in Stoneybrook.
2. Stacey's infamous lists that basically admitted Laine (still) equalled her NY leader but that she liked her anyway.
3. The divorce in general. I wish Ed had not changed and they had remained a family of 3.

Mallory and the Mystery Diary
1. Mrs. Barrett not helping Buddy. 2. Not finding out what Sophie's last name is. 3. Dawn wearing a straw hat. It doesn't seem to go with her style, which is supposed to be California casual.
