...You walk to the Salvation Army store (which is pretty far) specifically to look for BSC books you don't have -- and now I'm also trying to get into Little Sister. When you get there, you buy books that you already own just because they come in a box set and they MIGHT be nicer versions than the ones you already have (Books #53-56).
...Oh, and I also bought a Roald Dahl book too for good measure!

Pretty cool that you found a box set! I've never seen one while scouring for books.
I've been keeping my eyes open for any BSC books at the new Goodwill that opened near my home. So far, no luck.

Well - I finished my collection through ebay and amazon thank god! I'm pretty sure I had a million copies though of several of the books!

My only requirements for the books are that they have all the pages and they don't smell funky (smoke, musty, mystery stinkiness), so I would have saved my money for ones I didn't have yet. Funny, I used to buy those box sets at Sam's Club all the time and I would throw away the cardboard box cases as soon as I got home .

Congrats! All the Goodwill and Value Village around me are out of The Baby-Sitters Club books. I still need a few more to complete them.

I would love to find a box set if it meant the books inside were new and completely clean. Any book of mine for sure has to be smoke/smell free. I do have all the BSC ones but some are mighty yellow and crumbling.
To "answer" this question..."when you keep re-reading" the books, even parts of the ones you don't like as much!

If you don't already you can use Paperback Swap to get specific missing books.

Amazon and e-bay helped me, too. But Amazon is so expensive! I have spent $50 before on ... like... 4 BSC books because of shipping costs.
*shame* haha

Really? You can find pretty much any BSC book for a penny + $3.99 shipping on Amazon. Four bucks a book can still add up quick, but it can be good for filling in a collection with a few holes in it.

^I searched for a few later series books, and it looks like Amazon.ca shipping starts at $6.49 (CAD). Still not a bad deal when you consider postage and an envelope will cost at least $3. I totally get suckered into the $3.99 "free shipping" books that used to cost $0.01 + $3.99 shipping. I would buy a used lollipop if the shipping was free

Yeah, I am in Canada so it was $6.49 x 4 + (the amount the books cost)!

I've always just got the one-cent books labeled as being at least "Good" when buying a la carte from Amazon. I'm not particularly OCD about my books being in pristine condition, and the books arrive in decent shape; about 75% will have someone's name/a library stamp in the front or the notebook pages filled out, but that doesn't bother me.

Can't Canadians order off of USA Amazon? Or would the shipping cost go up anyway?
