Can't Canadians order off of USA Amazon? Or would the shipping cost go up anyway? Yes, we Canadians can order from Amazon USA, but it will be too expensive for the item(s) to get to our destinations and with the S&H fee.

What if he bought books that were fulfilled by Amazon.com instead of from individual sellers? (The ones that qualify for free shipping to US buyers.) They list shipment for books to Canada as $3.99 per book or $4.99 per shipment on Amazon.com. He could buy 5 books at $4 each, plus the $4.99 shipment fee, and that would make the books $1.50 less than what he paid on Amazon.ca. I don't know if that would work, I'm just trying to find a way to cheat the system and get a Canadian some cheap books, darn it!

I've always just got the one-cent books labeled as being at least "Good" when buying a la carte from Amazon. I'm not particularly OCD about my books being in pristine condition, and the books arrive in decent shape; about 75% will have someone's name/a library stamp in the front or the notebook pages filled out, but that doesn't bother me. Me too and they all turned out well

I've found quite a few used BSC books lately with widely varying conditions. There's a used book store near my parents' house that I went to when I visited them a few weeks ago where I found a whole bunch of the late-numbered regular series and California Diaries for 80 cents each! My mom checked another used book store yesterday (the one that we sold all of my childhood set to several years ago), and found out that my childhood collection just recently sold :-(
I haven't bought any BSC books off of Amazon or the marketplace on Barnes and Noble purely because of the shipping cost. I've looked for a couple of other book lines on there (Disney Girls and vintage My Little Pony) and just been floored when I got to the checkout and saw that a nickel's worth of books cost $30 to ship...all from the same seller!

Amazon is a rip off, to be honest. I have spent around $50 on books there just because I tapped out the used-bookstore-resources in my area and was desperate.

I go to Salvation Army or used book store, to buy Baby-Sitters Club books. I don't buy stuff online.

Now that I'm moving to a new city again, I'm excited to check out their used book selections and see what's there. Also it means a new LIBRARY system which I plan on using regularly this summer.

^ I plan, going to the library this summer, as well. Taking out some books to read. At the library we go to. They have used book nook. So, I'll see, if they have any BSC or LS books to buy.
