I'm getting ready to sell a bunch of BSC books on Ebay, and since I ended up with multiple copies of some books in my own quest to collect them all, I need to figure out whether I should make selling old covers or new a priority. Which are seen as more "collectable", and therefore more likely to sell? Incidentally, anything I don't end up selling will probably be given to a friend of mine. She and I were obsessed with the series together when we were younger, but her parents got rid of all of her books when she went away to school, which made her sad. She's not picky about covers, though....thanks in advance for your help!

I think most people prefer the old covers, but I don't think that necessarily makes them more sellable. People will buy them regardless if they need the books

I preferred the old covers myself, but I know that there's some people who wanted one book with each cover, so I wondered if that might make the new ones more desirable.

I prefer the old covers - they were what I grew up with - but I think people will be happy to buy either cover if they need the book.

I also like old covers, but I don't think it matters. Theoretically, people will buy a copy of whatever they need no matter what the cover is.

I actually prefer new covers, because I like my whole collection to match. I have new cover copies of all but four of the books that were released with the old covers. I would think this made me really cool, but about a quarter of the books have stupid answers filled in the notebook pages -- I found one where I completed "I would like to read a BSC book about..." with "someone dying" and another with "Claudia beating Janine in a spelling bee". I can never sell these, just because it would be too humiliating.

^ Yeah, mine all have stupid answers filled in (although I find them quite amusing). I've got one that said "If I could change any part of this book, it might be where... THE BSC WAS INVENTED" and "I would like to read a BSC book about... ME KILLING THE BSC" and "The BSC member I am most like is... MARY ANNE [because]... I SAID SO"
You wonder why these kids owned these BSC books if they seemed to hate it all so much!

I perfer the old covers because that's what I grew up with. I don't have a complete set right now so I'll take either one as long as I get the books that I need. #common014# ~Cat

I prefer both covers. I actually am trying to get copies of both the new and old covers.

I also like the old covers for the nostalgia factor. I compare the old cover of Kristy's Great Idea with the updated one and there's no contest, for example. But many of the new ones are fun too. I think the covers from 100 to like 115, etc., are really nice.

I like the originals because they're the originals, but now I feel like I'm missing something because the new ones have those AMM letters in the back. Even if they rarely say anything important, I'll always wonder what's in it. The scrapbooks are only interesting once, since they're always the same. The questionaires are lame, but occassionally entertaining if you got it used and it's already been filled out. But it seems so wrong not to have the officers listed on the back.

I definitely prefer the old covers, but wouldn't pass up a book I needed because it had the new cover. There are a few books from the beginning of the series that I insist on having the old covers for, but other than that it's not a huge deal. It would be cool to have all of the old covers AND all of the new covers, though.
Macca, that is hilarious! I love finding books with those pages filled out.

I like the old covers best. That's what I had first.

I also like the old covers best, but now that I have the complete series, I'm also trying to get new covers of the first 88 books. This may never happen.
