I was having a look at name meanings online, and I searched for Claudia, because i like it. But... Claudia = Disabled Wth? Anyway so I searched for the rest of the BSC... Kristin = Follower of Christ Mary Anne = Uncertain, maybe bitter?! Lol. Stacey/Anastasia = Resurrection Dawn = Sunrise, daybreak Mallory = Luckless (hehe) Jessi/Jessica = N/A - Jessica first appeared in the Shakespeare's 'Merchant of Venice' and her origins are much debated. It is possible that Jessica comes from the Hebrew name found in the Bible as Iscah, which was translated in Shakespeare's time as Jesca. Abby/Abagail = Father in rejoicing Logan = Hollow Shannon = God is gracious Haha, anywho, discuss these, and mention yours Kylie = Boomerang (I've also seen two other definitions, Narrow land and attractive... one guess which is my preferred )

I love stuff like this. Where did you find it? I'm on babynames.com.
"The meaning of the name Claudia is Lame."
Hee!
Dawn's and Mal's are so fitting. Poor Mal.
My name means light.

I remember looking up Claudia once a long time ago and seeing the "Lame" definition. It cracked me up. ;D
My name means "gentle."

What is it with all the biblical references?
I think with Mary Anne you have to search seperate names...?
I've seen variations of what name might mean: chosen child, bitter, of the sea.

I like Mallory as a full name, but the nickname is unfortunate...the prefix for bad and evil. It means not well in Spanish. When I would show the books to my mom or she would read them to me, she'd be like, "they call her that?" Malicious, malevolent, maladroit, malady, malaria...can't you just see the triplets using one of these words as they get older?
My name means "queen," and "silvery" in Japanese.

I am a MAJOR name geek. ;D I was a part of Baby Names World's forums before they became something else. Mine is "uncertain, perhaps bright sea."

According to babyhold.com, the name Andrea means "brave". Kind of ironic since I'm not the bravest person on Earth lol ;D. But it could be worse; it could mean luckless like poor Mal's name (that kid can't catch a break lol).

When I was a teenager, I wanted to be a writer. I took a book of baby names out of the library and copied down names and meanings, so that I would pick appropriate names for my characters! Sounds like a Mallory thing to do! Love the meaning of Claudia! Truly appropriate My name is from the Greek and means defending men. Not sure how I feel about that!

I found out today that the nickname for Claudia in Russian is also now slang for a stupid, simple village person.
The Russian form of Claudia was my grandmother's name, and she was always insecure because she only got up to the sixth grade and was from the village, so yeah, my mom and I found it quite interesting!

I did a similar post on my blog awhile back... and the ones I found were\ Kristin (Kristy) means Consecrated to God. Greek (in other words to make sacred to God, at least according to Dictinoary.com)... most of the meanings anyway. (Yeah I had to look it up so I didn't do a Claudia Claudia: Lame in Latin Mary Anne = Mary is Hebrew for Bitter Anne is Gracious in Hebrew. (that's a bit contradictory) Anastasia (Stacey) means Resurrection in Greek Dawn (or Diana) means Sunrise (obviously) Greek Mallory is Ill-Omened. French. Jessica is wealthy in Hebrew Abigail is God is Joy in Hebrew Logan is small cove in celtic/gaelic. Also unisex Shannon is Little Wise Owl also in Celtic/Gaelic and also unisex found at www.name-meanings.com/search.php Donica means gift in Latin, and I've only ever found it in one baby book, and that was the one my mom got the name out of it. My middle name (Jean) means God's Grace
