I thought maybe one of the librarians on the board could answer this. Was there (or is there now) any series that geared towards minority girls? It seems as though the target audience for most of these series was little suburban white girls.

There's the Sugar Plum Ballerinas series created by Whoopi Goldberg. It's fairly new. Sugar Plum BallerinasTwo of the girls are minorities and they live in Harlem. |

Those look like cute books with cute pictures. But I think I already know a little black ballerina, lol!
