It's notorious that the later books in the BSC series (usually over 100) are the hardest and most rare books to find. It's the same for me too, even over the internet. I was just wondering .. does anybody know, or have any theories or ideas, as to WHY they are so rare??
Cheers (:

Maybe there weren't as many printings of those later books? The series was declining in popularity by then, and the publisher may not have put out as many of the laters ones for that reason.

Also, Kristy's Great Idea was out for over a decade before they stopped the series. The later books simply weren't out as long.

Yes, that's probably true. Thanx (:
And in reference to that, it's probably why I can only find books over 95-100 in libraries or Amazon.com
Thrift stores and 2nd hand bookshops never have any

^ every now and then i still stop at the thrift store and i will find one of the higher number books, but the chances of finding a specific book is so rare. it's easier just to buy them online.

Yes, definitely. I prefer to stay with sites like eBay to get higher numbers, because I just cannot afford Amazon.com, as it charges separately for postage.

When I was desperately seeking to complete my collection, it seemed like (some of the time anyway) after I had given in to Ebay, I'd find the higher number book at the (then) $1 bookstore. You never know. Now, lol, I'd love to find all the books, especially the mysteries in better condition!

I tend to only ever find lower numbered books at thrift shops. That's what's great about ebay... you can generally find most any title. And there's not a huge market for BSC books now a days, so they're usually pretty cheap.
