Let's move on with The Baby-Sitters Club Book Number 9 "The Ghost At Dawn's House". Let's talk about this book: what are your favorite/least favorites scenes/parts? Or simply just share your thoughts!

I really liked this book because aside from Dawn's ice cream cone comment, she still came across as refreshing to read about. I think she really was wide (and) starry-eyed by finding the passage. One of my favorite parts was Dawn and Jeff preparing a ghostly barricade in Dawn's room--too funny. I wish Jared Mullray had been Sophie's dad and better developed. All in all this one was a "winner."

I thought Dawn was a very different character early on and was great in this book! I love the thought of a secret passage too! Jared was a mystery I wish we saw more of throughout the series.

This was the first BSC book I read, my uncle got me this and SS#2 and 3 for my birthday one year.
This is probably one of my faves because of that. I thought that finding a hidden passageway in your house would be so cool. I also liked it that Jeff was still around, I always liked his and Dawn's relationship.
I felt sorry for Nicky being left out all the time, but the 2 block rule didn't make a whole lot of sense to me, it seems a bit irresponsible for the babysitter not to know where one of their sitting charges is!

I do really wish we had gotten to see more of the Dawn/Jeff/Sharon dynamic before shipping Jeff back off to CA and then adding in the Spiers.

^The two block rule made no sense to me, Polaris. If the baby-sitter and charge were outside and the sitter could see the kid then maybe...but not out of sight! I also never liked that neither the Pikes nor Sharon checked out the condition (safety) of the passage. But then I don't think Nicky (maybe once)? went back so it didn't matter. :/

This is definitely my favorite Dawn Book, I love the part at the end where she and another BSC member scared the craps out of the other members. The Secret Passage its a great feature in this book.

This was the first BSC book I read too! I love the part where she's reading the ghost book at home, alone (except for Jeff asleep) and then her Mom brings home the Trip man!
