As some of you may remember from an older post of mine, I am an avid My Little Pony collector and am also part of a collector's forum for these wonderful plastic horses. What you may not know is that there is also a very strong community of customizers that take poor condition ponies and recreate them into all-new, beautiful characters.
What does this have to do with the BSC, you ask?
Today when I checked the mail, I had two packages waiting for me: one was a pony trade that I was waiting on, but I had no idea what the other was. I was getting worried that I'd forgotten to send off part of a trade that I was in, but when I opened it up...what I got was a free, customized My Little Pony that someone was simply inspired to make after reading on *that* forum that I am a fan of the BSC.
She is pink with yellow and lavender mane and tail, and her symbol is three blocks of the BSC logo. On her other side, her creator carefully re-created the signatures of each BSC member (even Dawn and Abby are both represented!). I am just so touched that someone would make me a gift like that and right now she is on display among my BSC books and dolls :-)
I don't yet have a name for my BSC pony...her creator didn't send her along with one, but I'd like to be able to call her something besides "BSC Pony" that reflects each of the girls. So far my best idea is "Super Special", which could get confusing:
"What's her name?"
"She's Super Special."
"Well, yes, she's quite lovely, but what's her name?"
So, any ideas for a name for her would be appreciated, too :-)

^Aw, that's a great surprise. Can you show us "her" picture? Seeing the pony might help us think of her name.

That is such a cute story! Maybe "Dibble" for a name?

She really is cute. I'm not much of a horse person but aww. Thanks for the picture. Lol, I was glad to see Mal's name was actually prominent for a change. At least she got her name on a sweet horse even if she had problems riding one. The pony's eyes are wide-eyed sort of like a baby deer or fawn. I know Bambi isn't a BSC name but it could work here. Something "spring-y" perhaps.

It certainly makes sense to me for Mallory's name to be so noticeable on the pony, considering what a horse lover she is :-)

I like that Claudia's name is right on the pony's rump. Had AMM made the pony, she would have put Mal there! The pony is cute. I was a big My Little Pony fan when I was a kid, too. I remember going to the park one day with my mom and finding 2 ponies buried in the sand. I kept them. I'm with you zoar - I'm not a horse fan either.

I remember going to the park one day with my mom and finding 2 ponies buried in the sand. I kept them. That is very true about AMM and the pony rump. I never really understood why there was so much Mal-hate in the series. I figured that with Mallory being the sitter that wanted to be an author (of children's books, no less!) that she would be in more danger of becoming a Mary Sue-ish character than the most reviled. How lucky you are to find those ponies! I sure wish that could happen to me :-D

Ann definitely would have stuck Mal's name on the horse's rump, probably on the back too so it wouldn't be as visible. Until this board I never realized how much Ann disliked Mal but she sure did. ^I never thought of that; great point. Maybe Ann was poking fun at herself? But then her "biography" wouldn't be so patronizing. You should ask her Peppermintraymaker, maybe she'll answer you. If you do, tell her up front to skip the form letter.

I like the "Dibble" suggestion. I was thinking "Stoneybrook" or "Friendship". Or an anagram of something, but those can be rather long and odd. Do normal My Little Ponies have names?
