I was just thinking today - because random BSC thoughts come into my mind all the time - but in which book did Cary confess to sending those notes from MA to Logan and Logan to MA in Baby-Sitters Beware?
Because - and no one else will understand but you guys - I've been trying to figure this out all day. Or was it just something I conjured up in my own imagination?

I'm editing this instead of creating a second post to say "good memory Anzuhana." I just looked and it's on page 80 of "Secret Society." He admits writing the MA/Logan notes and responsibility for sending the girls on "the wild penguin chase."

I'm pretty sure he admits it in Abby and the Secret Society.

Aw! That explains why I can't find it. I don't have the book. LOL.
But hey, now that I know it isn't a figment of my imagination, I think it plays into Cary crushing on MA a bit more!

I always thought it was kind of weird how it was such a huge issue when MA and Logan were getting those notes, and then in Secret Society... it's almost like a throwaway thing. "Did you write those notes?" "Yup." The end. No fuss was made about it... Then again, maybe the BSC just accepted it as Cary being Cary.

^I'd like to hear his reasoning for writing those notes. I mean, targeting them is something Cokie did because she liked Logan.

^ I think he said his reasoning was that complications make life more interesting.
ETA: I just checked Abby and the Secret Society and that's excatly what he said on page 80.

Haha true, but I think that is just an 'easy' explanation of his actions.

If that's the "easy" explanation, then what's the "hard" explanation of his actions?

If that's the "easy" explanation, then what's the "hard" explanation of his actions? that he was trying to get logan and MA to break up so he could make a move in on her. Or even just because he had a crush on her. Similar to Cokie's reasoning - wanting to show Logan how big of a baby MA is because she liked him.

If that was really Cary's motives, I could see why he used the "complications make life more interesting" excuse.

^I would have made an excuse too, especially if it were in front of the whole BSC! That's a lot of people! Oh well, I can day-dream that this was his real motive for writing those letters...I would have loved for them (MA and Logan) to have actually broken up because of them!

^ If Mary Anne and Logan broke up because of Cary, what would've caused them to do so?

^If they really thought the letters were from each other, they could have easily just said, "I hate you and I never want to see you again in my life." Stick their tongues out at each other and be on their merry thirteen year-old way.

^MA would have thrown a coffee cup first. As you know I'm for MA and Logan all the way so probably should be staying out of this discussion. It would have been interesting had Cary befriended MA during one of her (regular series) "fights" with Logan. I'm not talking about a Cokie-type battle just to see if MA might have talked to him (someone she didn't know as well as her BSC friends or Logan) about her mixed up feelings. If she had, we might, doubtful but maybe, had gotten to hear of her initial visits with Dr. Reese.
