The Babysitters Club 30 Days Challenge:
Favorite Sitter:
Mallory Pike is my favorite sitter. She was the most relate-able of all the sitters (well, next to Mary Anne and MAYBE Claudia).
Least Favorite Sitter:
Abby is my least favorite sitter. I was actually going to pick Dawn but I do enjoy her books (mainly for snarking ;D unlike Abby's book. Abby seriously annoys me-she annoys me so much I can't even snark on her and her books. Abby is just basically Jewish Kristy.
Favorite Book from Regular Series:
Kristy's Great Idea. It's the book that started EVERYTHING. Not to mention it's incredibly well-written compared to the later books. The first ten books (aside from Claudia and Mean Janine) are pure gold.
Least Favorite Book from Regular Series:
Kristy and the Walking Disaster. It's poorly written and just plain BORING. Enough said.
Favorite Mystery:
Stacey and the Stolen Hearts. It was pretty realistic and I liked that.
Least Favorite Mystery:
There's really no least favorite mystery. I liked each one I read (I haven't collected all of the mysteries yet).
Favorite Super Special:
Babysitters on Board. That's one of the favorite super specials, anyway. However, despite it being my favorite, there are a lot of snarkable moments, but really funny moments, too. Karen getting a manicure is a really bratty thing to do, though, LOL.
Least Favorite Super Special:
There's really no least favorite super specials. I enjoyed every single Super Special.
Favorite Minor Character:
Alan Gray for the win! I just LOVE Alan Gray! Sure, he was a pest, but he had a big heart, in my opinion. It was too bad that Alan and Kristy didn't become a couple
Least Favorite Minor Character:
Hmm...this is hard to decide. I'll have to say...maybe Cokie Mason. Now, I love her now for snarking but when I was originally reading the series I hated Cokie's GUTS.
Favorite Sitting Charge:
I have a LOT of favorite sitting charges (Jamie Newton, the Perkins girls, Charlotte Johannsen, Becca and Squirt Ramsey, Nina and Eleanor Marshall, the Barrets, etc) but I guess I will have to go with Jamie Newton. He was so *squeals* CUTE and actually normal. He wasn't the type of kid who would constantly having plays like the Pikes. He'd be like,"Let's play with my new dump truck, Kristy."
Least Favorite Sitting Charge:
Karen, of course. Enough said.
Favorite Parent:
As for the sitters' parents, I liked Kristy's mom, in the earlier books (especially Kristy's Great Idea) a lot. My favorite BSC parent is either Mrs. Newton or Mrs. and Mr. Pike. Like Sarish said, Mrs. Newton does seem like a cool and cute soccer mom
Plus, she just seemed like a nice mom, you know? Mr. and Mrs. Pike may be strict towards Mallory but they seem to be like cool, laid-back parents.
Least Favorite Parent:
Kristy's dad, obviously. He basically neglected his own kids. I hate to say it but my dad is just like Patrick. My parents got divorced and my dad hardly ever saw me. And when he did, he...well, let's just say that he wasn't a good dad at all. But, at least like Kristy, I have a really good stepfather
Anyway...my least favorite BSC parent is Mrs. Barrett. Honestly, she is so disorganized and neglectful. I pity her poor, poor kids
Favorite Fight:
The fight in Mary Anne Saves the Day. It was SO realistic. And entertaining at the same time (well, all BSC fights are
. I also liked the "fight" in Kristy's Great Idea.
Favorite BSC Love Interest:
I have a hard time choosing between Alan Gray and Sam Thomas. I think Sam is my favorite
Enough said.
Favorite BSC Organized Event:
Does Kristy's mom's wedding counts as an organized event? I think so. I loved it when the BSC had to take care of 14 children
Favorite Vacation Spot:
Sea City! I just love the stories where the Pikes goes to Sea City (particularly Boy-Crazy Stacey)! It seemed like a fun place to go
Favorite BSC Holiday Book:
I liked Claudia and the Phantom Phone Calls, Get Well Soon Mallory, and Happy Holidays Jessi. But if I had to pick only one, I'd say Claudia and the Phantom Phone Calls. I loved the "mystery" and Halloween. Much better well-written than Mary Anne's Bad-Luck Mystery and Kristy's Secret-excuse me, I mean Mystery-Admirer.
Favorite Couple in the Books:
It's really hard to choose. I always liked Mary Anne and Logan as a couple even though Logan became too over-controlling. But it's SO unrealistic. I liked Kristy and Bart because it was pretty realistic. Things were awkward between the two and I appreciated that. I liked Mallory and Ben but, to be frank, Ben was a bit...how do I say this? Dorky and sorta nerdy. Sorry
I also liked Stacey and Sam together but they really weren't an actual couple. So...I guess I have to go with Mallory and Ben. Ben is a dork but he'd probably be my type of guy when I was in sixth grade. Plus, he's so sweet, caring, and just a nice guy.
Favorite Couple not in the Books:
I am torn between Alan/Kristy, Mary Anne/Cary, and Stacey/Sam. Oh, man....I'm afraid I can't pick one!!!! So my answer is all three couples. Lol
Favorite Friends Forever:
Mary Anne's Revenge. I loved this book because Mary Anne finally gets Cokie back and that she's becoming more of a "normal" teenager. Plus, it was such a funny book! Her moods amused me quite a bit. I loved it when she snuck out of the house
Least Favorite Friends Forever:
Stacey Vs. Claudia. It used to be my favorite but not anymore. Both Stacey and Claudia were b*tches. But this book had a good lesson: Friends first, guys second.
Moments/Scenes that stick out to you the most:
Kristy and Bart's racy make-out. Mary Anne's first school dance in Logan Likes Mary Anne. Claudia and Janine sharing a piece of taffy at the end of Claudia and the Phantom Phone Calls. Claudia encouraging Janine to spend more time with Mimi in Claudia and Mean Janine. Whenever Claudia and Mimi has "special tea"
There's a lot more, of course. If I had to pick one, I'd pick Mary Anne's first school dance. It was so entertaining. Plus, my first dance was similar to Mary Anne's (only wore...
)
Favorite Claudia Outfit:
The outfit Claudia wore in Kristy's Great Idea. You know, with the short, baggy lavender overalls. It was a very cute outfit
Favorite Stacey Outfit:
The outfit Stacey wore in Kristy's Great Idea when she first met Sam. With the shirt with big yellow 10's all over. So cute, younger Stacey-like, and so 80s!
One thing you learned from the BSC:
Um...by the time you are 13, you will have a hot, steady boyfriend, you will be constantly going on trips, babysitting will be a piece of cake, etc. Just kidding
I learned about who your true friends really are (Stacey and the Bad Girls), friends come first, guys second (Stacey Vs. Claudia), you shouldn't let your boyfriend over-control you (Mary Anne Vs. Logan and Mary Anne and the Bad Breakup), etc. LOL I just realized that it said ONE thing you learned from the BSC. I guess it's a little too late for that...
Biggest 'that it really wouldn't happen in real life' moment:
Gosh, there's a LOT! But I'm not going to list them. Instead, I will actually choose only ONE. Um...I'd say the Babysitters winning the lottery. Honestly, that is so UNLIKELY.
Note:
I know the 30 Day BSC Challenge was over 1-2 years ago but I just HAD to do it. This was a really fun game
I really enjoyed it.
