Hi all, I was browsing in my local Red Cross op-shop yesterday (I'm in Australia), and spotted a small paperback entitled "Just You and Me", and the author was Ann Martin! (Yes, no 'M.'). I was curious, and so opened the book (Ann Martin is who it is copyrighted to as well). The book was published in 1983, and the dedication reads: "To Mom and Dad and Jane, with love" - this convinced me that Ann M. Martin had written the book. However, I had, being an Ann M. Martin fanatic, never heard of this book before and the blurb description didn't sound familiar, and it was not mentioned in Ann's biography. So I bought the book, and went home and Googled the title, and found it on lists of Ann's books on a couple sites, including wikipedia, so my question is - has anyone got this book, or ever heard of it before?

I hadn't heard of it before. It just took me some googling to find it. If anyone is interested: sweetheartsromancebooks.com/wildfire-teen-romance-books/prod_1837.htmlIt's part of an 80s teen romance series where a different author writes each book. I think they're awesomely funny with all the outdated crap in them, but they aren't exactly serious journalism. Maybe Ann likes to pretend it never happened.

I've never seen it, but I'd heard of it before. Apparently it was Ann's first published book ever; she mentioned that in an interview once. I don't think she mentioned the name of the book in that article, but someone had already posted about the book before that on the BSC LJ.

Hmm, she always mentions Bummer Summer as being her first book. Strange!

I was doing some Googling and I haven't been able to find that interview again. I don't remember if she mentioned the actual title, or if she just said it was a teen romance, but she did say it was her first book, and I thought that was weird, too, since in her other interviews she's said Bummer Summer was her first book. I figured that maybe she usually didn't consider the romance as her first published novel because it was a series book where she probably didn't come up with the plot or characters but just wrote them to someone else's specifications. Or maybe she wrote it after Bummer Summer but it was published before, or vice versa. I dunno.

Someone should ask her on Facebook.

LOL. Maybe Ann wants to forget that her first book was a heterosexual romance?
