This post was actually inspired by greer (thanks!) because her hometown in Pennsylvania reminds me of Stoneybrook, or could be a town very similar to Stoneybrook (or how I pictured it in my mind). So I wanted to see if anyone would be interested in a general discussion about Stoneybrook.
Some particular questions I am interested in is: did any town remind you of Stoneybrook? Maybe even your own? I admit that there were a few houses in my neighbourhood when I was growing up would somehow "remind me" of houses in Stoneybrook. "That reminds me of Claudia's house" or "that looks like Kristy's neighbourhood".
I've been really interested in Stoneybrook lately and am wondering if this is my inner desire to move to a city like it. Am I crazy? haha.

Stoneybrook is based on Princeton, NJ, where Ann grew up. My best friend lives there, so next time I'll take some pictures for you.
Stoneybrook is NOT New England-y; it is indeed very Mid-Atlantic-y. But that part of CT is more like New York area, anyway. Also, my friends who I was with last night live outside of Stamford! I held back my instinct to be like BABY-SITTERS CLUB! I'm seeing that friend again on Thursday, so maybe I'll bring it up then.

I have always loved Stoneybrook too! It always reminded me sometimes of the south and very small towns in the south like SC or NC. I don't know why, but it just always did. Funny side note, the place I moved to is on Stoneybrooke West parkway and there is a huge golf/home community beside us that is called Stoneybrooke.

^Watch out for Simon Clock and Devon Thomas, Wiggirl. (Two of the names of the 'bad' characters from Christina Thomas' life in "Kristy and the Missing Fortune. Remember Watson's map from back then told us Stoneybrook still had the "e." Of course, it also did in the book Dawn read about Jared Mullray.
I was only back East, aside from being born in NY (moved out here when I was 6 or 7 months old so I have no memory of it) once at age 7 to attend a weekend wedding in Pittsburgh. I envision Stoneybrook as a quaint and charming town similar (but probably a whole lot richer and expansive) than the small town I went to college in Northern, CA. I think Stacey's description from TSB is my "Stoneybrook." Lots of trees, wide lawns, fresh air, and extremely picture-esque. I'd definitely love to visit.

Edmonds, WA is a small town not too far from where I live. It's near the water, very family-friendly, and has lots of little independent shops. The town center area is very cute, and I always think of Stoneybrook when I'm there.

^ Yeah, BC is a pretty easy day trip from most of western Washington. At least, most of western Washington from Seattle northward.

I keep hearing how easy of a day trip it is to go to BC yet I've spend most of my 31 years living in western washington primarily in Pierce or King county with some time in Island county when I was little and I have never been. I would like to go but getting an enhanced driver's license sounds like a head ache. Maybe we'll take our son on the ferry trip that runs from Anacortes to BC this summer.

^ Maybe we will meet some day!? I'll let you know if and when I'm planning to be up that way! Katie - You may as well just get a passport...they're more expensive, but they'll get you across the border AND to countries outside of North America, should you ever want to go.

I may when my little boy is older. He does not do well with long trips in the car yet. I have no idea how well he would do with flying.

The fictional town in the TV show Once Upon a Time is Storybrook, Maine.

^ I noticed that too. The first time I saw it, I thought it was Stoneybrook not Story-brook.
