^ MAM and Stacey vs. the BSC would be 2 good ones to promote, I agree!

Did anyone see that Ann asked this same question on her Facebook page the other day?

My first BSC book ever was "Dawn's Big Move". I got it during a school book fair in 4th grade...a girl that I was friends with insisted that the BSC was a "grown-up" series that middle and high schoolers read and that we should start reading them to learn about what middle school is really like. Of course, by reading that book first, I knew all along from the time I started back at #1 that Dawn would eventually leave. Maybe that's why I didn't dislike her as much as other people seem to?

^One of the reasons KGI is my favorite of the series is because of Dawn's absence! Or do you mean (as I did) you hoped from this book Kristy and MA's friendship would stand and/or be developed? Sadly neither happened but we didn't know that then.

What I meant was that since I read "Dawn's Big Move" before I ever read KGI, I knew she'd eventually be moving by the time I started over at the beginning ;-)

Hahahaha, that is hilarious! So did your friend learn that in middle school, everyone always goes on vacation with their six best friends several times a year and finds a new vacation boyfriend each time, and that no girl ever talks about getting her period, or even thinks about it?

^Personally, I can say that I was a tad disappointed that my middle school experience did not involve a single trip to California, or solving any mysteries, or even hearing about any baby parades. Also, that no one else thought that sheep were "in".

Good thread for me, it was, I'm guessing the English name here "Kristy and the missing child" that's right, a mystery . I got it from my grandma, who bought it for my cousin who was a BSC fan but already had the book. She knew I liked to read so she gave it to me I liked it and then I bought another mystery, Dawn and mr. X whatever the English name is, I loved the mysteries then but I couldn't get more so I switched to regulars, the one about the racists that I found disappointing and Dawn saves the planet that was it for a while, because my mom didn't allow me to buy too many BSC books

^ Did she think they weren't worthwhile, like Claudia's parents and their Nancy Drew dislike?

^ Did she think they weren't worthwhile, like Claudia's parents and their Nancy Drew dislike? Yes, exactly I liked reading as a kid and I also read more "literature"-like books, I think she wanted me to stick with that + I borrowed those from the library, for free. I never thought to check whether the library had BSC books, I only found out years later when they put them on the discard shelf for sale . Bought them, of course and that is how I got back into the series ^^

^ I got back into the series after seeing "Claudia's Freind Friend" at a garage sale and buying it.
