Which parties sounded the most interesting or fun to you?
Mine were:
Valentine's Day in Karen's in Love at the Little House and in class with the treats and gifts at breakfast, and the games in class.
The kitten party where she was trying to find homes for Growly's kittens, it showed just how compassionate she is about animals and their well being
Karen's Sleepover party. Everything sounded fun, from making cookies, to laughing about each other belongings, to the events unfolding at night with the storm and all
The first tea party in Karen's Tea Party when Nancy brought jam and Andrew ruined it with his burping and Karen was throwing a hissy fit (though her real tea party turned out nice too)
The goodbye party for Amanda Delaney, the games sounded fun and the music was good, and they had something nice for her, though it escapes me what it was. Maybe a scrapbook or surprise photo album.

I think her birthday party trip to the circus sounded fun, especially when Daddy shelled out for souvenirs for all her friends. Actually her fancy birthday dinner at the Little House in the same book sounded fun too. It's the sort of thing that would make a 7-year old feel very grown up.
The half-birthday party she had sounded interesting and fun too. It's too bad that her friends weren't really into playing the half-games.
I always liked the Fourth of July picnic/pool party in Karen's Swim Meet. They had a picnic with watermelon and played in the swimming pool and it just sounded like a fun day.
Oh, and I guess I'm a sucker for birthday parties, because I think if Karen hadn't already decided she hated Pamela, she would have had a good time at Pamela's birthday party.

How could I forget Pamela's party? That sounded fun too, especially with what they were given in the lootbags.
I also liked the celebrations in Karen's Birthday, the circus and themed cake sounded cool, and so did the setting of the fancy dinner with all the balloons and so on
The food at the Valentine's breakfast sounded soooo good mmmm and healthy for the most part at the same time.

One wonders what other classmates' b'dy parties were like!

I really, really liked the sound of this one and used to fantasize about having the exact same kind of b-day dinner I also didn't know how to pronounce "hors d'oeuvres" at that age and had a really funny way of saying it in my head whenever I read the book.

What about her brother's party in Karen's Brothers? Everyone got a hand-made gift!

Like what? I can't recall. Did she knit or make crafts?

She made crafts. I think I remember her making things out of coffee cans.

My sister is 12 and wanted drums but didn't get them because my dad bought me drums around that age (divorce guilt) and I never played them.

I hope you have older sister guilt now for squashing her dreams! (I'm sure she wasn't really that crushed.) As a younger sister, one of my pet peeves was always being treated a certain way because of my siblings' actions.

As a younger sister, one of my pet peeves was always being treated a certain way because of my siblings' actions. The worst is that my dad calls her by my name ALL the time, especially when he's yelling at her. She's thirteen years younger than me.
