A side note, I thought that it was too much of a coincidence that Stacey wanted a ring and then next thing she knows, she's being accused of stealing one. I dunno. It was a weird coincidence but I agree with Penny Lane about her mentioning it. Also, I've had some experiences lately where nothing surprises me or seems unplausible so I guess that's why it didn't bug me. ;D

Yes, that always was kinda lame, but I guess it was there so she would look suspicious to the others,

I think you def. tell it's Ann's first mystery. It's not that well written, in my opinion.

Ellen Miles wrote it Ann didn't write a single mystery (gasp!)

Really? I didn't know that. I knew that she wasn't the only author of the actual series, but I didn't know she didn't do the mysteries.

I never even thought to see if Ann wrote any mysteries!

I recently reread this one and it bugged me how the Gardellas treated the pets almost like they were more important than their own baby. They went on and on about them, gave Stacey all these instructions, and the baby was almost an afterthought.
I hated Claudia in this one. She searched Stacey's room right in front of her, then got all pissy when Stacey called her out on it. Some best friend! Stacey stuck by Claudia when she was accused of cheating on that math test and never once suggested that maybe she really did cheat.

^I had the same feelings about Claudia. It didn't seem like something she would do.

What I think, because Tara was still just a baby, is the Gardellas had been a childless couple for awhile, and so were used to treating their pets as their children.

^ That did cross my mind, seeing as how the baby was only six months and they've probably had the animals for a few years. I have a dog and I admit to spoiling him, but definitely not to the extent of the Gardellas. I don't treat him like he's a human being. If I had a baby, I just can't see myself putting the animals on such a high pedestal like they did.

I was disappointed in it because the fact they both came back and happened to find the ring makes them look more guilty than anything.
Stacey really expected too much from her mom too. I mean I have a real diamond ring too but it was given to me as a gift from my mom cause she got it from my dad as a present after the wedding, she could have just waited for something like that when she was older.

she could have just waited for something like that when she was older. I know, right? I don't know why she felt she had to have it right then.

I know what you mean. I had a birthstone ring when I wsa 13, but I got it for my birthday. I didn't demand that I have it when I wanted it. Also, I can understand the diamond part of it. No 13 year old needs a huge diamond.

I thought that she was one of those "crazies" that you hear about sometimes, or even a potential stalker. I mean, if it had happened to you, you would be annoyed too, so don't judge. Since we were practicing civility back then, coupled with the fact that she was new at the time, I didn't want to say this then.
