Oh yeah! I forgot about the caps thing. That really bugged me too.
And didn't one of the adults also write like that, or did I imagine it?

I've never met anyone who wrote in all caps, actually, and I doubt Karen, for instance, would have been allowed to do so at school. It doesn't really seem like something Karen would do outside of school, either. She's (understandably) touchy about being younger than the other kids in her class, and she does not like it when somebody thinks she's unable to do something that she is capable of doing! I'd think she wouldn't write in all caps because she'd be too worried that people would think it meant she didn't know how to make lowercase letters.

according to wikipedia, studies have proven (for lots of reasons, and with all sorts of numbers that i won't bother copying) that all caps text is less readable and legible than lower case text. karen probably wouldn't want anyone to struggle reading her notes. like wanderingfrog said, she's really concerned with other people's perceptions of her. and since writing in all caps indicates shouting, i would think she would shy away just because it's considered not very nice.

Lol. "Karen, please use your indoor handwriting."
One of my friends (a girl) in high school printed in all caps and got praised all the time for her neat handwriting. The teachers loved it. *shrugs* As far as guys and cursive writing go, my dad is the only one I know who uses it.

Didn't Shannon write in all caps, too?

No, that was Logan. Shannon's handwriting was just very neat, I always liked reading it.

It's not uncommon for technical things. My dad uses a style that's common to engineering, miniaturized caps and larger ones for the actual capitaluzation.
