Oh, thanks. I wonder why I had a mental block on that

Not just a regular pet store, but a pet supply store.

i went into a regular pet store while i was waiting for my friend to pick me up the other day and it was soooo depressing.

^ It's the smell (even just of the bedding and stuff ;D) that I'm thinking about and not wanting to be around..... ;D

^ I thought of your last post this morning when I read a book (from the Wild at Heart series) about a puppy mill. It was really sad, even to me and I'm not a big fan of dogs. The thing I liked least about this book was that the ending seemed so abrupt. That kind of ruined the whole thing for me, though I have liked the book more the last few times I've read it.

^ Yeah, it does seem kind of abrupt, when you think about how Stacey just "all of a sudden" happened to completely understand everything that was going on. I think that if I had to work in one of their stores, I would have picked Stacey's. I still love toys even though I don't have much interest in actually playing with them the way I used to. But I might prefer the pretend BSC version to working at a real toy store. ;D I wouldn't have liked the smells in the pet store, either. And even though I love seeing the cute kittens or cats in pet stores, it's still sad to see them all locked up in such a small space, with no real love or attention.

I thought the ending was abrupt too when I recently re read this book. It just came so..all the sudden.
I don't like the smells of pet stores either, and whenever I see puppies or kitties in cage it makes me so sad and I want to free them all!

just think that they are safer and happier there(or in a home), than in the wild, where they could barely survive...

It still doesn't make me any less sad. Sure they are safer, but I just don't like seeing animals caged up. That's why I don't particularly like zoos.

I'm not even going to touch on how a puppy mill is nowhere near as safe as the wild.

Puppy mills are not safe. A girl in my speech class did a presentation on puppy mills and it made me cry. It just is so sad.

well the animals in the zoo, are another thing....they COULD survive in the wild. i think its unfair for the people to cage them up just for show. But you know, puppies are abused and abandoned on the street, right? Well, thats why there's a shelter. it helps the animals. i dont think if u left a puppy on the street for 2 days, u would find it alive. sure, i feel sorry for them caged up, but think of them as their waiting for a new home where they'll be safe

I am not going to get into an argument over this. This is a topic I could get really passionate and heated about and I don't want to do that on here. After learning everything I did about puppy mills and zoo animals my views are different than yours, and that's all I am going to say on the topic.
